An oasis of calm for the weary soul and the restless mind. I enjoy popping into the Aylesbury library when I am looking to relax or need an inspiration. The new decor and the refurbished arrangement are very relaxing. The place has a peaceful and calm environment which soothes your mind. Today, as I sat reading about the delectable delights that the Chiltern has to offer, I saw tiny tots playing, reading and learning in the kids area, teenagers studying and adults and pensioners relaxing or researching. It's truly a place of refuge for all! With facilities like free WiFi, free computer access, photocopying, scanning, printing, meeting rooms, a well-stocked book collection, topical exhibitions and children's area, it caters to the needs of all ages. I would suggest that a small cafe inside would be a welcome addition. The staff is very knowledgeable and they work hard to make it a hub for the local community. The library now open longer yes, it used to run much shorter opening hours during austerity! which is a quite helpful. This is one public facility that the Buckinghamshire Council has got right! Well done!
Town centre library, busy on our Saturday visit. Has all the usual offerings, seperate study suite, children's area, clean toilets and a dedicated baby change room. Bright, modern and with carefully presented stock, but the whole operation feels slightly 'light' - I've seen more comprehensive branches for a town of 60k - the reference section is a single half-height shelf section. This may be the County Town but I'd struggle to believe it is a flagship branch. However, in a post-2010 local government funding world it seems to be a thriving survivor.

Despite constant funding pressures from the Tory government, this library is still a valued asset for Aylesbury. Good selection of books, movies, graphic novels and children's books.
Newly refurbished library looks great spacious and separate computer area as quiet zone. However there are some services reduced like no news papers and magazines...better for kids.
Lots of interesting books which covers a wide genre are available
Excellent staff - great area for kids books, with a great place for the little folk to read and explore. We take out 20 books every couple of weeks.
