Has potential to perform well. In summary, the food was average, the service was poor, and the coffee was great. I think it’s a temporary issue to be resolved. The main issues most likely stemmed from them being undermanned in the kitchen with only one chef being available for a Saturday brunch service. It’s easy to understand how the food would be average and slow given this. However, the staff could have set the expectation better as a result. We waited 20 minutes before the barman, not even the waiters, came over to ask if we were being served - a poor start. Given that the place offers drinks coffee, juices, and cocktails and pastries, at least utilise those items to ease the bottleneck of having one chef on shift. In this case, it’s probably best to let people know that there will be a delay on food and that they may want to have coffee and pastries before the main brunch dish comes out. It was a bit evident that the waiters/waitresses needed to be trained a bit better having previous experience myself. Other than this, I think the atmosphere is great, the location is good, and there is also terrace dining which is great in the summer.
Great location, lovely patio and nice vibes. We had brunch there and they were accommodating to some changes my kids asked for their meals. Everything tasted great and our server was a bit slow about kind.
It’s easy to get lost in the choice maze of high-end food locations where London Bridge tries to tempt people beyond Borough Market. It can feel like every step away from the market gives you taste-asphyxia. However Audrey’s is worth the wander. Don’t let the low key cafe-vibes fool you; the food is simply but carefully sourced, prepared and executed. We did a Sunday lunch for 4 my wife and our two youngest with no kids menu - which is fine by me , when they can share an incredible proper roast and get to sample real puds. Crab cake “from borough market” as it was advertised was the least impressive part of what was a suberb Sunday lunch sit down. The beef was perfection and the roast chicken stuffed with a tastebud-tingling, lightest lemon stuffing I think I’ve ever had. Lemon sorbet and chocolate & apricot mousse finished us all off. Simple, short and strong food & wine menu with cafe vibes, tucked into a quirky venue worth the visit. Thanks for the alternative Sunday Roast experience.
5 star cafe with retro feel. Great welcome wait to be seated service, lots of room inside and outdoor eating. Loo very nice. Great menu choice breakfast lunch and dinner. I would recommend the Sparkling water, Darjeeling Earl Grey Tea and Eggs Benedict-excellent. Great location near Tate Modern and a wander around Blackfriars and Borough
Have walked past this place many times and today I decided to go in with my laptop to work and coffee. Ended up getting hungry and opted in for their soup of the day - smoked chicken - and it blew away all expectations. Absolutely delicious, one of the best dishes I’ve had in London. Only £6 with two slices of bread. Lovely staff- thank you for having me!
Awful food & bad service; would not recommend. Plenty of much nicer restaurants in the London Bridge/Borough area. Cheddar Soufflé tasted like feet. Rueben sandwich had way too much Sauerkraut and the bread was soggy. Only nice dishes were the lamb hot pot & root veg in coconut broth. The lamb hot pot was nice but absolutely tiny for £16; literally the size of the palm of my hand. Service was slow despite it being empty. Cocktails were not nice at all; ended up not drinking them - they just tasted like pure liquor with no other flavour.
It’s about time someone did something with the abandoned building on Union Street. Right in front of the now defunct Flat Iron Square with who it shares the same owners, Audrey’s offers a chic and modern take on the all day cafe bar. The menu ranges from porridge and mimosas to ribeye steak and a pint, with a wonderful selection of interesting plates and creative cocktails in between. The decor is great, and I look forward to using the exposed terrasse during the summer.
This is a great spot for a tasty meal accompanied by delicious cocktails, well prepared food, as well as friendly and professional service. It also has a lovely interior. Keep up the good work.
Service was great, our waiter was helpful, attentive and not overwhelming. Ordered shakshuka, it's not how you'd expect it, it was lukewarm too. Not very impressed. Miso aubergine was nice. Had a Virgin Mary, really good! Unfortunately got charged for a regular Bloody Mary. Overall it's Ok, it looked better than it was.
The best meal I have had in a long time. The flavours were amazing, the staff were attentive and friendly and the sparkling rhubarb juice was so refreshing. Great value, very happy customers
