Lovely place for a nature walk. Lots of points of interest including the marina and the weir too. The cafe at the weir even has vegan cake! 🙂

Attenborough Nature Reserve is a wonderful place to while away a few hours. Dogs are welcome here, but during ground breeding birds nesting season it's recommended to keep them on leads, so they don't disturb the nests. Make sure you stop by at the Nature Centre and buy some proper Duck and Bird Food... It's worth it as the Robins at Attenborough are quite friendly and will often feed from your hand if you offer them the right food. The Swans can be quite bolshy but again will take (more like steal or snatch! 😂) food from your hand. The paths are wide and even and mostly wheelchair accessible. The only one I would say isn't wheelchair friendly, is the cut through by the River Trent which leads to the bird hide, where Bicycles aren't allowed. It gets very muddy after heavy rain fall and the ground isn't flat at all. With regards to Bicycles, people have right of way but watch out for those who bomb along, oblivious to anyone else. The main car park gets very, very busy on a warm day. It only costs £3 to park all day though. I'd recommend joining the Nottingham Wildlife Trust, then you get a car park sticker and free parking for 12 months. The Nature Centre does proper food... Cake and Stews and also serves decent Tea and Coffee. There loads for the little ones to do and if you fancy a picnic, you can use one oc the tables at the beginning of the bridge. Attenborough is lovely and well worth a visit.
