Worst bank ever. Only 1 person there who could open an account for me but was told they were unavailable so I need to call customers services to make an appointment. Turns out it was the lady having a cigarette outside leaning up against the wall at the front. Really bad business image. Don't worry Barclays you won't be getting my money as I have found another far more helpful bank now
Only one face to face cashier. The rest you are expected to do via a machine. Long waiting times for any queries that are non-standard and you can't pre-book an appointment. Service has really gone down with barebone staff. The staff are polite and try to help but are unable to help as much due to the new setup
I've been banking with Barclays for last 17 years and have mortgage for some time. It's not only this branch but Barclays services on the slide down. Since covid they still cover themselves with covid thing. Most of them advisors work from home and can't be bothered to see you face to face in the branch. I had abysmal experience with mortgage advisor last year as she stopped answering her mobile. There is no branch number you can call just general, useless, helpdesk with kids behind the phone. I went to the branch and asked to see advisor and was told that no one works in the building anymore and I can only book one via the phone. I was provided phone number which proved to be wrong Barclays but different matters. I spoke to useless helpdesk again. Now I'm in process of moving my accounts and mortgage to other lender. If I can't use branches why would I use more expensive Barclays other different, much cheaper online lender. You people at Barclays need to get a grip and come back working from branches. Most other businesses moved on after covid.
Very bad service. Aaron told me a printed account statement from a different bank is not enough to open an accout here, fact demonstrated wrong by his colleagues in Tottenham court road and victoria. Made me waste half a day. Very very unhelpful and without any willingness to help. Avoid.
Terrible branch and service. Staff in jeans and T Shirts all congregating outside smoking prior to opening. Queued outside for 15 mins only for doors to open and it be a bun fight race to the counters. No management or direction. Was there for my Deceased sister's account. Little empathy, was told had to go online to book appointment. Couldn't get through on Customer Services line. Deplorable service.
I try and avoid banks but was told I had to on this occasion for a Business matter. They are clearly understaffed with properly qualified people. The general staff walking around are pleasant enough but can only deal with the basics. Sadly this is the modern way and Barclays like many others sacrifice staff for profits ahead of customer service. The only real way is to withdraw your business and go elsewhere.
Beware entering this bank!! Staff stand like bodyguards at the door waiting to throw you out again. Went to pay some money in for my son but told there were no cashiers on a Saturday. I was even advised they can't even help at the cash machine so what's the point of having staff being paid to just stand there?? The staff member I spoke to looked completely disinterested and busied herself by looking at her mobile screen. Abysmal service, I would give zero stars if I could.
Disappointing that counter service only 9 30 - 2 . 00 on a Monday in a busy town centre location. Slight redeeming feature hence third star in that a member of staff was able partially to sort out an issue with the banking app which had not been working over the weekend.
Today I went into the Bromley branch to renew my standing order, Spoke to 3 members of staff who were all unhelpful, they could only offer machine service, the branch is open from 9am - 2pm with a decent amount of staff yet none of them can do a simple task, what is the point of having these staff in the building when all they can do is walk you to a machine??? They all answered "ohhh you need to go online or call Barclays direct" I understand that we are in a pandemic but life still go's on & customers still need a decent basic customer service one to one.
Ridiculous opening hours. Almost impossible to access for working people, except for Saturday when it’s insanely busy. I don’t need counter service, only to cash a check using a machine. Why can’t machine area be open longer hours?
