Picked up my new glasses this morning, and I cannot praise St Austell branch enough. The staff went above and beyond in every part of the service that I have received in the past 2 weeks. Great service. Lovely glasses.
Worst service ever! After being a loyal customer for many years, I was put onto another optician in their store. The glasses just did not work, had to go there three times before I got a refund, They Tried to sort the problem putting back the original make of lenses as their new had problems for some . And they admitted after that that particular optician had had other people that didn’t get on with her glasses. Cannot get hold of the optician of choice. Well respected surgeon. Never answer their phone and they are as helpful as helpful as a chocolate teapot.
A well deserved five stars. Superb service, excellent price and all the staff were really helpful. I originally turned up without an appointment to purchase new glasses but they managed to fit me in and very helpful advice when choosing my specs. They arrived in the stated timescale and I was given an appointment to pick them up. Once again, excellent service with the fitting. I would highly recommend using Asda opticians. After being with them for years and spending a lot of money on glasses and contact lenses I was let down completely by them recently and have moved my custom to Boots . I have a strong prescription and cannot be without either glasses or contacts and I accidentally broke the only pair of glasses I had and only had 2 sets of contacts left . After not being able to get through to them on the phone I went to the store where I was met with a shrug of the shoulders and told my prescription was out by one month I had no reminder as I used to have and that they could nothing for me until June !!! Despite them knowing I cannot see without them - went to Boots and they sorted me out there and then as an emergency by taking my lenses out and putting them in a spare frame they stock and booking me an immediate emergency eye test ! As they say you cannot be flippant about eyesight especially when you are unable to see without visual aids . Asda clearly haven't got the memo about how important it is to be able to see safely and protect what vision you have left !!
Having had a bad experience at another very well known optician, I cannot tell you how delighted I was with the service I received at your store. The two ladies who looked after me, were exceptional in their attentiveness, and were very helpful and pleasant. I left the store feeling quite uplifted by the experience, as no other optician has ever taken so much time to make sure I came away with the correct frames for my needs. All can hope for now is that when the glasses arrive I will be as pleased as I was when they were ordered. A very big thank you to both ladies who were on duty on Thursday 23rd February.
Good opticians, however not enough time for people with complex prescriptions. Also there's a gap between the advice issued by the optician "I've put notes on, it's very important that you get frames that put the lens this distance from your eye." and the customer service staff too busy to discuss, just said to go pick anything and it didn't matter. Probably works better for people with basic prescription and no 'check this, be sure of that' notes.
If your eyesight is bad enough they don't charge at all for thinning the lenses!!!!! I just couldn't believe it...never will I go any where else for glasses now.
