The driver today, Rhys, was absolutely brilliant. I had forgotten my order was due and am not very well. I thought I’d have to refuse delivery, but Rhys packed the whole shop into the bags for life I’d ordered with the shopping and left it for me in the porch. He’s absolutely a superstar. Please note that to his manager! Thanks.
On several occasions I have had issues with the self checkout. The main one being when a purchase needs approval, and I have been kept waiting for up to 5 minutes for assistance, while 2 or more members of staff are chatting amongst themselves in the immediate vicinity. Surely the staff chatting amongst themselves is not as important as getting a customer through the checkout, so the next person can make their purchase? I attempted to raise this issue with a member of staff supervising the self checkout and was spoken too like I was a naughty child! Absolutely ridiculous. Today I decided to put a reasonable time limit on my delay, your store failed, when, at the time there where 2 members of staff chatting and 4 customers waiting to be helped but being ignored. I left my shopping at the checkout and left to ease the burden on your staff that I was clearly creating. Edited as I am otherwise unable to respond to Tashas reply. The self checkout assistants were female and appear to be late 40's-early 60's 5' tall to 5'6" other than that I can't really help with a description. It was approximately 19:30 on 14/02/2023. This I not a unique experience. I will continue to put a time limit on how long I am prepared to wait at the self checkout. Edited after a further visit to the same store. I went to a manned checkout only to have a similarly poor experience when the operator who I have met on several occasions before who on each occasion I have met her I have explained I have hearing difficulties, the operator had a mask on which makes it difficult hear what she says, she seemed to recognise me as one of the earlier events involved her. When she was passing my items through the till she, instead of moving them to the end of the bagging area in a reasonable manner she used a considerable amount of force hitting them into the end of the bagging area. I raised this with her at the time and asked her not to use do much force and received the reply that I shouldn't be so miserable! I reminded her I have complained about her before and asked her should I complain again, I couldn't make out her reply to this. I am considering going to an alternative supermarket in future. Monday morning on way to work and had to wait a good 5 minutes for someone to open the doors. Nice guy called Ian who I think had been working nights there called Louise to open up. No rush, no apology, not good service for such a big store!
The click and collect instructions are absolutely rubbish, I was pushed from pillar to post and it took me an hour to pick up my package because nobody who worked for Asda could tell me which place i had to go. Now i know where to go it will take me five minutes. However no one who works for Asda can. I ordered a pair of jeans online and was messaged that my parcel was ready. So i went to collect it at the collection point at the front of the car park, but that was closed with barriers, but no instruction of where to go. So off i went to the main shop 200 yards away and asked two Asda staff where i should go for ‘Click and Collect’, they both informed me that I should go around to the rear of the building, about 300 yards away, so off I went to the rear, when I got there and queued, the staff told me that the rear of the building collection at the rear was only for food collection, and that maybe I should go back to the front desk in the shop ‘Information desk’, so back I went to the shop and found the information desk and queued again, when I asked the lady at the desk, she at first tried to send me around to the back of the building, but when I explained that I had already been there, she had to ask another member of staff who directed me to a large blue machine that was next to the desk, so off to the machine I went and followed the instructions and put my information in and waited, nothing happened so I went back to the desk I went and another lady now took my information piece of paper from me, walked into the back of the machine and five minutes later came back out with my jeans. Heaven! Now I used the ‘Click and Collect’, so that it would be quick and easy but in the event it took me over an hour to pick up my parcel, all because there was a lack of information given to me in the original message that I had received on the internet, the lack of notices that were posted on the original Click and Collection point, and the lack of training of staff. As a footnote: All of the staff I came into contact with were very as helpful as they could be, this is purely a Management problem. Ive just read through other complaints about click and collect, so I’m not the only one who states that the lack of information is frustrating.
Great provisions and everything you would want from a large supermarket. Plenty of good disabled parking and trolleys are stored undercover which is good. As usual the McDonald's is cramped and not the best service.
Oh my word!! Covid wouldnt have survived a visit to them toilets!!! 4year old need the toilet but we left scared I understand there is a lot of traffic through a very busy store but there is no excuse for the lack of cleaning in there! Great store and lots to choose from but this area needs addressing ASAP
Used for Online shopping for delivery pre Xmas. Several items weren't delivered but still charged for them. Despite this Asda reject the refund request. As someone who shops with Asda each week, I'm extremely disappointed with Asda's handling of the topic and will shop elsewhere going forward.
Absolutely rediculous click and collect! Firstly no signs to find click and collect at all. It was in the carpark all locked up. No signs to say anything. I went to customer services to ask. They said its round the back of the store. Still no signs to follow or when you finally get there. 7 substitutes aswell. Totally different products for substitutes. Won't be doing this again in a hurry!
Absolute joke of a supermarket! Prices are much higher than others which you could forgive if they had people on the tills; 4 tills had people on them meaning we were queuing halfway down the aisles and waiting for over 30 mins and counting I will not be visiting this store ever again and it won't be long until others follow suit too.
Top notch Asda outlet - lots of choices and place buzzing and great produce... Personable staff - cheap petrol & huge car park .. Queensferry .. very lucky.
