I have shopped at this Asda for many years however recently I have noticed a downgrade in customer service. On my last shop i was with family and when I was at the self checkout scanning my items I presented my blue light card with my bank card as ID which one staff member checked and authorised. I was then putting back my card in my purse when that staff member came back and peered into my purse and said quite rudely “ YOU have to pay with the CARD” I was shocked with the level of tone she used as I was intending to pay with cash as I had just gone to the cash machine beforehand and had taken money out for this reason. I had taken cash out because it allows me to keep track of my spending and helps me to budget in the current cost of living crisis. However I was unable to do this As I was ordered quite rudely to pay by my card. Not only did the staff member think it was acceptable to tell me how to pay for my shop, she stood around and watched what I was doing as I felt as though I was forced to use my card especially as other customers were around. I was specifically at a cash and card till as I intended to pay with cash only, also I presented valid ID when using the BLC so why did the staff member think it was ok for her to order me on what method of payment to use. I felt like a thief in the way as I was being watched even though I had done nothing wrong, that staff member was then busy chatting away with other members of staff at the far end whilst keeping an eye on me. I understand the need to check ID for BLC as some people may abuse the use of it however when presented together with valid ID what more proof could be asked for. Everyone has their reasons of their method of payment and they should not be challenged by anyone on how they should pay for their shop. I shop at Asda for the excellent offers and now with the cost of living crisis the BLC goes a long way however after feeling very uncomfortable in the way I was spoken to as a customer I may need to shop elsewhere. And if I intend to shop at Asda in the future and come across the same staff member at the self checkout then I will simply put my items back and will walk out. Edited 20.12.22 Hi Tasha, the day of the incident happened early last week in the afternoon however I can’t remember the specific date and time. The colleague on the self checkout was a female staff member who’s blonde with glasses and also wore a headset on.
It's alright. They don't do such a good job of keeping the shelves stocked though and once I tried to get my shopping delivered and they said they couldn't do it because they couldn't find my house. I can see Asda from my bedroom window
I have been a regular shopper at Asda Colne for over 30 years and have always found it a well priced, well stocked supermarket. It has been my supermarket of choice. I have however noticed over the past 12 months that the quality of the shopping experience has decreased significantly. The store is often out of stock of standard lines and the store regularly looks like it has been the victim of a serious episode of panic buying .Prices have increased significantly which I appreciate is to be expected given the economic situation that currently exists but other stores are now more competitive. Asda at Colne needs to improve significantly if it is to retain my custom and I imagine lots of other previously loyal customers. There is no shortage of of other stores in the area.
So, had a click and collect booked and en route my car broke down. Rang customer services, spoke to a lovely lady who put me through to right team. They were amazing, delivered my shopping at no extra cost and in amongst my shopping was a bunch of flowers from the manager! Well done Asda, fantastic job
I'm disappointed for the second-largest supermarket chain in the UK. For all these years, Asda has operated smoothly, with no issues for the community. Students are now expected to line up and remove their bags before entering? Why? Crime? No disrespect intended, but Asda's valuables won't all be stolen by a few teenagers. Students rely on Asda for everything from buying snacks to meal deals. You are preventing them from doing it. It's shocking how many students I've heard and seen leave Asda's doors without ever going in. Students are among your most valuable customers—they may not spend as much money, but they are without a doubt your best. They're being refused entry now? What if a girl has to buy something for herself but is unable to go discreetly because she is without her bag? You can't claim I'm mistaken. Compared to earlier, you are currently losing more money.
Went to Asda Colne today for first time in 3 months we were away on a cruise. What the heck has happened? All the open food cabinets and end specials are now fitted with very awkward heavy glass doors, and being in a wheelchair its now almost impossible to see whats where inside them and even harder to open them. Being low down in the chair its very hard for me to open the door and then try to reach in for what I want. Its even harder almost impossible when there are other people trying to look for their stuff.whilst I am. Couldnt find many of the things that we buy regularly as they have shuffled the store round a lot. Even the staff told me they dont understand why this has been so radical a change and have had a lot of complaints from regular customers We were there for an hour and what would normally have been a big shop tirned into a give it up and go elsewhere. I doubt thay we will be going back there again.
I’d like to say thankyou to Oliver who I asked where de-icer was he told me it was outside in the container & he’d get me some, I told him it was ok as I had a can in my car & would stock up on my next shopping trip. He was busy re-stocking but still offered to go outside and get it. While I was at the till he came over with a tray of de icer and told me he’d been for some as he knew it was freezing in the morning, that was very thoughtful & kind oh him as I’d said it was ok for next shop to buy it, so thankyou Oliver you are a really nice person and considerate
Absolute shambles. Queued for 15 minutes at self service till to buy one item. Woman with a massive trolley pushed in front. Member of staff directed me to another till to pay as he had seen her Where another member of staff refused to let me use it and told me to go to the back of the queue. Second time I’ve had issues at this store going back to Tesco
Anyone that uses these toilet rolls in there loo immediately loses a star. Quality and availability has taken a downturn since rhe take over hence 2 stars.
Big store almost every thing available daily or routine work uses prices is good
