For over 14 years, I've been a loyal customer of this store, and I've consistently experienced exceptional customer service. One standout individual is Matthew Web from the Click and Collect service. Matthew has a remarkable ability to connect with customers and provide top-notch service. His dedication is evident as he consistently goes above and beyond to assist his customers.
A very strange Asda store. Firstly, everything is difficult to find. Butters and spreads are not near other refrigerated items, especially dairy. They're on the back wall, randomly. As are other parts of the store. Bizarre. Second, the majority of staff I noticed are not wearing any uniform, at all, apart from a lanyard around their necks. Have Asda changed their uniform policy recently? When i couldn't find the above butters, I didnt know who to ask. Similarly for other sections of the store. When I did eventually find a uniformed member of staff, I asked whether they sell something, he didn't have a clue. He didn't offer to help, find out or assist me in looking. Lastly, 3 staff arguing on the shop floor, swearing, one I assume was a supervisor telling two others what to do. One of which was kicking off about his hours and shouldn't have to stay after his shift or something. Poor poor staffing standards all round. Generally a poor experience for someone who had never been to this store before. Not pleasant.
I've lived in Harrogate so long I remember when this ASDA had a cafe. Having said that, I've seen the standards drop considerably since then. Some staff are great, and others not so much ... but the store is convenient for the town centre. The prices are good on some things but not others ... you can find cheaper elsewhere. The real problem is that it is a dismal place to shop. It has some of the scruffiest folk in Harrogate not all of the town is posh!. There was a homeless man the other day parked out front, clearly not indigenous to Harrogate or the UK even. Not sure how it would feel shopping here late at night. I avoid this store whenever possible.
I have never in my life seen such filthy freezers... every single one was covered in grime, on the sliding cover and the insides looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months. There were copious amounts of frozen food and dirt inside the freezers. Also the freezer cupboards weren't better ...I wished i'd taken photos , but suffice to say i'm glad I do not shop at Asda anymore. I hope that this will be addressed, I did mention it to customer services.
We had a delivery this morning and I just want to say the young man who delivered the shopping was so kind. He took the shopping into the kitchen for me and emptied the groceries. Thank you for being so kind and helping it was very much appreciated.
