Only been in twice . Both times ,it was a bad experience. Bad staff attitude. Poor merchandise. Never again. REPLY The most recent Yesterday . Wednesday 15 2 23. 1600 / 1630..I was wearing orange hi viz security will remember. Auto till wouldn't work and it went from there...... Assistant snatched my card saying payment hadn't gone through after going to cash point She insists I try the card again, i did it cleared i went to leave she snatched an split my bag saying its not gone through I went to walk out without shopping an my bank card I was so stressed security were involved she'd got it wrong . It had cleared ? What a do over nothing. Maybe they need more breaks cos they're not on it. They're distracted , some seem stressed . I don't want to cause anybody any trouble , This is a review. Previously. 2 / 3 yrs ago. I had problems with a phone. Which didn't end with a satisfactory conclusion. Don't do things by halves do you . I used to shop at Asda regularly everywhere. I will not use Asda anywhere In future If I've another option . You asked.
Having shopped there for over 35 years i have now converted to Sainsburys or Lidl where there are more manned tills. The staff in Asda seem dispirited and demotivated - not surprising when they've been replaced by such a high number of selfserve tills. This store used to be such a lovely pleasant place to come to with regular friendly faces at the tills. No more . Have to confess that after 3 attempts a little while ago at navigating the self serve, i walked out , abandoning a full trolley worth approx £120 to Mr Asda. apologies to whoever had to sort that out but i had run out of dinner break time.
I shopped here for years the staff are great but now with the lack of service tills and the queues they cause I hardly go anymore. Scanning your own items while keeping an eye on kids and not having much room is just stressful. No one wants to do it.
Absolutely appalled at the service on the customer service kiosk - i went to return a couple of school uniform items with my receipt in exchange for different sizes and the lady on the till was awful, huffing and puffing that I have used a blue light card and also telling me the items I’m exchanging for need to be paid for at another till after she puts the money back onto a gift card plastic which was a complete waste of time and really not worth putting it on plastic when there was not a single person queuing up behind me but her argument was that she “ may possibly get a queue”!!! I told her the time she has just stood and argued with me I could have paid and gone but then all the other colleagues who were stood about also came siding with her not knowing what has even happened saying she is correct- i have been shopping in this store for over 25 years and always done exchanges at the customer service kiosk… The manager also seemed like she couldn’t care less - I wouldn’t really be bothered if I was on my own but I had the kids whom I had to take with me with my gift card to a self scanning tillalready very cramped which was chaos for no reason as she was blatantly being awkward with the backing of her colleagues!
I’ve come to expect nothing other than poor produce, poor selection and poor customer service from this place over the last couple of years, after we visited today to shop for ingredients at 12 midday we found NO fresh herbs on the shelf, the ones that were left were dead as they haven’t been watered, we wanted to cook a bit of a special family recipe this Saturday, we had to go to Lidl who had plenty left. This is just straw that broke the camels back, I’m sick to the back teeth of coming here and not being able to get what I need. I realised that because Goldborne is a bit of deprived area, the shops seem to be the same, we have decided to start shopping elsewhere at a premium supermarket, yes we’ll pay more but at least we will get what we need and want have to go to different shops to get the ingredients we need. Asda really has lost the plot.
Asda golbourne sat.4.2.23 6pm whichever ladies are working on the pizza counter need to be taught hygiene making pizza without wearing gloves, just digging your hands into everything while wearing rings,I witnessed the lady making a meatfeast and then a veggie supreme without gloves and without even washing her hands, i know you are busy but that is disgusting and the lady who took the vegetarian pizza had no idea what you had done, after witnessing that I didn't bother to order
unfortunately the quality of ASDA stores as a whole have been in decline ever since ASDA was sold off. The recent takeover seems to have just made the trend worse. I visited the Golborne store today and was appalled at the amount of empty shelves and the lack of choice offered in those items actually in stock. The George menswear "department " consisting of two small fixtures lost in the far left corner of the store was sadly indicative of the level of service and goods on offer in the rest of the store. Having only managed to obtain around 25% of the items on my list I continued my shopping at Lidl. What a difference shelves bursting with a choice of items. It is no wonder that the staff at golborne Asda seem downhearted. They can probably see their jobs disappearing with every ex customer like me who decides that it is not worth the petrol going to Asda for 25% of their shopping then having to go elsewhere to complete their purchases. Sorry Asda I had to give you a 1 start rating as there isn't a 0 star option.
Keep getting harrassed by the same spice head evrey time i go in there
Disappointed in the George department, sadly I couldn't find quite a few items that I'd seen online! Also the Red wine selection was sadly lacking in choice!
I went at 4.30pm on a Tuesday - hardly any staff and empty shelves. Unfortunately Asda has gone downhill since the last takeover.
