Absolute horrendous shop, I struggle when shopping and so I usualy go quite late on around 7pm only to be followed around the store by a member of staff, when she wasn't following me she was chit chatting to other staff who seemed to be fed up of her, I caught a glimpses of her name tag. Vanda I also audibly heard other members of staff voicing their dislike about her, it says a lot when even the staff feel uncomfortable around her.
This was a brilliant store to go shopping at, with well laid out and easy to find shelves of sweets and chocolate! I bought some Jaffa Cakes cheap for a friend and the tills area has ease of usage.
Now then, one of the best refits I've seen.nnPost UK purchase of ASDA, the Wharf Road Retford store opted in for a refit alongside the updated branding. This was my first visit to the store since 2020.nnPre 2020, the store was seemingly under appreciated by its layout and location. During one visit minimal store lights were functional due to an obvious fault, service continued that day, but it pretty much showed how poor the store could be.nnMemories of the old store will always be present in mind and online.nnDuring the rebranding, an ASDA On The Move Little Asda appeared further up the road between Whitehouses and Wharf Road, containing an in-store bakery, which has been rented out, alongside a neighbouring little KFC.nnBelow, a 2023 view of the front of the store and customer service counter area, which has moved to where the cd and dvd collection was previously. The old customer service area has now enabled further in-store lighting by means of available windows bringing a new light to the store.nnA recent visit was only a quick one I didn't pick up on further changes except that everything was more organised and somewhat easy to find. Was obviously an initial throw, but you get there in the end.nnParking charges have seemingly been removed from the store. Previously, however much you paid for parking, could later be removed from your shopping bill. This echoed at the Newark store too.
Very disappointed. Ordered wine glasses online. They were due for collection Saturday. I called in sunday & they were ‘missing’ . Havent heard a word since .
Generally OK. Not great variety of goods, but not particularly big either. Seem to regularly get travellers in the car park.
