Asda Billingham is more than just a supermarket, it's a piece of retail history. As the first Asda to open in the North East and the oldest trading Asda in the UK, this store holds a special place in the hearts of local shoppers.nnFrom the moment you step inside, you're greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The aisles are well-organised, making it easy to find everything you need. The produce section is always fresh, and the bakery offers a tempting variety of breads and pastries.nnBut it's not just the products that make Asda Billingham so special. It's the sense of community and tradition that permeates the store. Whether you're a long-time customer or visiting for the first time, you're sure to feel welcome.nnI highly recommend visiting Asda Billingham if you're in the area. It's a truly unique shopping experience that you won't forget.
Its not your largest asda store so dont be expecting the full asda experience with a george clothing section or a cafe or even a toilet for that matter but its big enough to get your weekly food essentials. If you want more choice or a bigger selection then go to the nearby portrack lane asda in stockton or the one in hartlepool marina otherwise use aldi or tesco nearby if you cant get everything you need there locally.
Racist place!nToday 2/1 at about 11:30 AM, I came to Asda to you service counter to return an order from Amazon. The old lady who served at the counter did not want to help me with my return but asked me to move to the other line cause she said she had to process other customers from the supermarket first. Why? This is absolutely racist, I would say. I waited in the line patiently while she took time to chit chat to other white customers nicely. Then it looked like she was not really happy when she saw me with my return request. It was so simple that she just needed to scan my qr code, I didn’t skip the line or do anything to make her upset. The way she treated me based on my colour made me feel so bad. Sadly Asda has this kind of employee. Terrible experience!
Nothing exciting to report here. Small supermarket with the standard offerings for sale, bakery and hot food counter. My only issue is that the place is a bit dimly lit an has the overall vibe of being a bit uncared for. Definitely long overdue a revamp.
Worst shop ever. If you have the opportunity, do not use this store, ANY other one will be better, at the checkout the cashier counted 3 drinks instead of 2, because of which there was not enough money to pay, after she took this drink from me, I only had one left, but that's not all. She did not deduct the drink that she took from the total price, and since I still could not pay, because the price did not change, she also deducted a bottle of cider from me, in the end I paid 6.5 pounds for a box of strawberries and one drink, because strawberries cost 2, the drink 2, but with a discount for 2 bottles I should have paid 2.5 pounds, and because there was a 3rd bottle that she did not deduct, in the end I paid 6.5 pounds, and should have paid 4.5, this is some kind of nonsense, I did not lose much, but it is so stupid, I bought 2 bottles of drink that they did not give me. In the end one cost me almost 3 now, and for some reason the cashier was not embarrassed when she looked at the screen and saw 3 bottles, and one in the bag, great, I will never go to this store again in my life, no one has ever cheated me like that anywhere. I was lucky that I took little, and if I had picked up 50, they would have pulled 100 from me, or what? If you don't want to be cheated - don't go to Asda.
