A lovely Victorian Century, At the entrance inside one of the buildings is a TV showing interesting information about the cemetery, who ran the site, how the site was run and how it developed into the grounds it is today and just a few people who are buried here. Tours are available. Peaceful and lovely to be able to walk around such a site like this. Café, toilets and a small exhibition to look at and read about.nHighly recommend
Beautiful victorian cemetry. Very peaceful. Some areas are maintained whilst other parts are left to nature. Shop, cafe, and parking on site. Cafe is accessible but the graveyard isn't.
I'm very lucky to work very near to Arnos Vale, so take a stroll around the place at least a couple of times a week, every week, rain or shine.nnThe paths are well kept, and endless, you can just keep walking around the place without covering the same route twice. Kudos to the volunteers and staff who keep the area tidy and accessible. Steeper inclined paths in some places if you want to go up them, but also relatively flat on the lower levels.nnOn site cafe too, reasonably priced.
Today we had lovely walk through Arnos Vale Cemetery, the weather was great, sunny and a bit warm, so we can see some lovely flowers around the cemetery and could listen to birds singing. We walked up the hill and enjoyed the lovely view of Bristol once we got to the top.
Maggie, our guide for the general tour of Arnos Vale cemetery was friendly and knowledgeable, with backup notes available should she need them. Really enjoyed this, and would highly recommend it. Hope to return for another tour soon.
