I ordered a washing machine in late November, with a confirmed delivery slot for 10th December. On the day, the driver clearly didn’t make any real effort to deliver – no knock, no call, nothing. When I phoned him shortly after the slot ended, he bluntly told me to just rebook instead of bothering to come back or attempt redelivery that day.nI contacted Argos customer service, who rescheduled for 22nd December – already a ridiculous two-week wait during the busy Christmas period. Then, on the actual delivery date today, my order was suddenly cancelled without any prior warning, and I was automatically refunded.nWhen I called support to demand an explanation, they casually informed me it was due to a “system error” and they couldn’t reprocess the order. No apology, no urgency, no alternative solution offered.nAs a result, I’m now left with no washing machine over the holidays, piles of dirty laundry building up, and temporarily £300 out of pocket until the refund processes which they say will take up to 5 days.nI’m utterly disgusted that in 2025, a major retailer like Argos can treat customers this way – lazy drivers, incompetent systems, and zero accountability from support. This has caused massive inconvenience and stress. I will never shop with Argos again and strongly advise others to go elsewhere, like Currys or AO.com, who actually value their customers.n1/5 stars – the lowest possible
Where do I begin with this one! Firstly, this isn’t a complaint about the product itself — the TP-Link Archer AX12 AX1500 Dual Band Gigabit Wi-Fi 6 Router is excellent, and I’m really happy with it. My issue is entirely with Argos’ handling of my order and the attitude of their staff.nnAfter paying online, I arrived at the store to collect my item. A member of staff asked for my collection number, and when I tried to show him my phone, he said, “I can’t take your phone.” Not a big deal, but his tone came across unnecessarily abrupt. he read the number, and a minute later he returned with the item, started walking toward me, and then—without saying a word—turned around and placed it on the counter instead of handing it to me. It felt dismissive and unprofessional.nnUnfortunately, the experience got worse once I got home after a 30-minute drive. The box wasn’t factory sealed — instead, it had a sticker saying “Opened and checked.” That’s not a new product. The packaging also had what looked like a sticky cola residue, and the router itself was marked with the same substance. Clearly, it hadn’t been checked properly, and it certainly wasn’t new.nnI had to drive to another Argos store in Arnold to exchange it, where I finally received a new, sealed unit.
Today, I visited this argos to pick up a last-minute birthday present for my wife.nThe whole shopping experience was very quick and easy. I browsed the catalogue on the computers found in store, ordered and paid for them there, and then waited roughly 5 minutes for my item to be called out.nThis argos is situated inside a small retail park close to the centre of Hucknall. There was plenty of parking available when I visited.nThis was not the first time i had been to this store, and I would happily visit this argos again in the future.
Only one staff member is supposed to serve one customer, you don’t expect 3 members of staff to join in my conversation I was having with the staff member who was serving me. Also for the rude and condescending staff member who turned around and started laughing to herself. You’re a disgusting excuse of a staff member who clearly shouldn’t be working in customer service because you don’t know how to deal with customers. In future don’t jump into someone else’s conversation thinking you know it all when you don’t.
I visited this Argos last week on Saturday and Lily was super helpful, she was so patient with me answering all my questions with a smile on her face, she’s a credit to the store. I’ll definitely be back!!
