I would give zero stars if that were an option.nnI purchased a product from Argos which stop working, and when I attempted to return it they initially refused to follow the Consumer Rights Act. The staff member at the desk outright denied that I was entitled to a return, which is frankly shocking for a major retailer that should know the most basic consumer law.nnAfter a long and frustrating discussion, they very reluctantly acknowledged that the Consumer Rights Act does apply, but then immediately tried to push the problem back onto me by insisting that I obtain an independent report confirming the fault. In all the years I’ve dealt with faulty products and returns with other retailers, I have never once been asked to obtain an independent report. It felt less like a legitimate requirement and more like an attempt to make the process as difficult as possible.nnWhat makes this even worse is the contradiction: they first didn’t even know their own policy and denied my rights entirely, and then suddenly hid behind “store policy” when it suited them.nnNow, after going through the effort of arranging the independent report they demanded, I can’t even get a response from them. They are not answering calls, and I can’t get a clear email address for where the report should be sent. This means I now have to waste even more of my time travelling back to the store in person just to hand over the document they insisted on.nnThe entire experience has been unnecessarily stressful, time-consuming, and completely avoidable if the staff had simply known the law and handled the situation professionally from the start.nnIf you are considering buying something expensive and expect the protections provided under the Consumer Rights Act, I would strongly recommend purchasing from another retailer that actually understands and respects those rights. Based on this experience, Argos clearly does not.
Great store and friendly staff. Always use this store to get clothing from Tu.
Ordered and paid online. Received text confirming collection details. Goods held until the end of the next business day. Not sure why this was because I had paid! nCollecting was easy too. Went straight to the counter. Receipt emailed to me on collection.
Very helpful and pleasant staff. No waiting and was served as soon as i walked through the door. I was collecting an item i had ordered and paid for online. It took two minutes to collect. Great service!
Bought a radio alarm clock but realised it wasn’t what I wanted. Took it back to exchange for different one and no quibbles whatsoever. Money refunded and new item bought. Very nice staff and very friendly. Wish more shops had staff like them.
