We have had nothing but positive experiences with Cairn. My partner and I have been patients here for 2.5 years now and they have been outstanding. Care has always been prompt, and appointments timely considering how busy GPs are all over the country. They clearly go above and beyond to provide the best possible all round care for their patients and I am so grateful we decided to sign up with them when we moved to Inverness. Thank you. We appreciate you and all the work you put in.
Just moved to Inverness with my wife from Edinburgh and after cause for a couple of visits we feel the GPs, receptionists and nurses all really care about their patients instead of just being a number at our previous Edinburgh surgery. I totally recommend Cairn Medical Practice.
I’ve thankfully moved surgery now - but this was my childhood practice right up until I was in my late 20s. They ignored every symptom I ever presented them with, putting it down to mental health I guess, but they should have been able to diagnose coeliac disease and Hashimoto’s disease when they developed in me around age 16, or at least a couple years later especially as they KNEW I was iron deficient They didn’t ever test me, they were always so dismissive and the only reason I can think of to explain it is because I was a young, overweight teenage girl… as a result my health got worse and worse and have been pretty miserable actually. My new GP almost immediately orders the relevant antibody tests, and gets me quickly referred to the depts I need to see. Why did it take nearly 15 years to find a competent doctor, NHS?? I saw multiple docs at Cairn. Personally wouldn’t recommend to go near Cairn ever again. I feel I’ve been robbed of living my life at regular quality in my youth, which might be a bit dramatic and it’s not their fault I’ve got these conditions but they were the ones who were supposed to help me and they didn’t.
The doctors are great and listen to the patients concerns. If you have concerns that can't wait for an appointment, patients can call and ask to see a doctor on the day.
Would not recommend this practice - have been clients here for over 50 years. Have had several poor experiences in recent years. This morning tried to get an appointment, first one is 11 days away. First telephone appointment is 5 days away. Reception staff also very poor. Very bad service, nothing like it was in years gone by.
Worse doctors in Inverness, don’t register unless you never want to be seen by any of the doctors if your ever 5 minutes late they won’t wait they’ll take someone in and then you’ll lose the appointment but if your 5-10min early you’ll be waiting for 45 minutes to be seen if your lucky and don’t get me started on actually phoning to book the appointment 20 people queue with an average wait of 40 minutes. Don’t get me started on how useless they actually are when you do eventually get seen I’ve been going to them with my son for a year now with one problem and they say everything is fine when it’s not!! Shocking
We are on holiday in Inverness and my husband needed some medication, this surgery was the third one we tried, the other 2 being nearer to us. The receptionist was very quick answering the phone, and efficient with her questions, within half a hour the doctor had called us and had arranged a prescription to be emailed to the nearest pharmacy for us, excellent service, much better than we're used to!
No appointment for babies for 2 weeks ridiculous and Reception staff giving incorrect information to one another. Reception staff need training in manners.
Cannot recommended this practice enough. Have been using them temporarily whilst home for the pandemic and everyone I have spoken to drs, reception etc has been lovely and extremely helpful
I don't attend the practice to visit the doctor! Just to do gardening with incredible edible!
