Aquatic Pet And Reptile Centre

I visited this shop at the weekend to buy frozen food for my reptiles - this is a disgusting shop! There was old shed skin in with the snakes, no food in with any of the geckos and not a single leopard gecko had a fat tail not to mention the smell coming from this place. A tiny area had been gated off for puppies they were selling; the mental state of dogs sold through pet shops is always poor not to mention the likelihood that they may have been acquired via a puppy farm. No reputable breeder in their right mind would sell pups to a pet shop! The two girls in there had no interest in the animals they were "looking after" and I will never spend a penny in there. The council should close them down.

the best et shop in Maldon the help you with everything very nice people work there you are always welcome there lot of pet to look and buy good prices there look after them when you buy them till you pick Them up Ashley dicker ages 15

First of all I want to put it out there, if you are thinking of buying any pets or accessories definitely do not go to pets at home as their service, knowledge and after sales is appalling! I bought my sister a 15l tank and pink gravel and a couple of brightly coloured ornaments So I went home and set it up and went in to aquatic pet and reptile centre to start buying some fish as I didn't like the look of some of the fish in pets at home as there were several dead. A couple of days later i went back to Michelle from aquatic centre to possibly buy more fish and her advice was to introduce fish slowly and every time I went Michelle would test the tank water to make sure it was safe for more fish but the nitrites in the tank were starting to increase and Michelle gave great advice and told me not to worry test things in the tank to eliminate the problems which I did. I took out a pink ornament and stood that in water for 2 days and tested it, the nitrites tested high so I kept that to one side and I did a water change in her tank after 24 hours I tested it again it was still high so I cupped out some stones and left them for 2 days that came out with extreme high nitrites so I bagged up the stones and ornaments went into pets at home and said I want to change my ornaments for free and explained what tests I had done. The manager was quite rude and said none of their gravel or ornaments contains nitrites maybe it is in my tap water! I was shocked by this comment but they did agree to exchange gravel and ornaments so I picked up natural stones and natural ornaments and I took them home and put them in her tank and I did a water change and couple of days later I tested the water again and it was still very high by this point I was very angry 😡 Then I went back to Michelle very stressed and she kindly said bring me the whole tank with the fish still in there and the ornaments but empty quite a lot of water. Michelle is thoroughly testing my ornaments individually and is replacing my gravel with gravel she uses in her tanks all free of charge she is also caring for my fish while she sorts everything out for me. Michelle and the rest of the staff have been so helpful and patient would just like to thank them all and I'm sure our tank and fish will be home soon with a nitrite free home
