Had a wonderful girl called Sarah from Genius support in the store help sort a friends new iPhone. Extremely polite and helpful and sorted the problem in now time with a smile. Would recommend going to the store. Apple well done for for having such fantastic customer service in Genius Support department
Appalling customer “SERVICE” - DO NOT USE!! They might remember me - I had the last laugh ; they clearly weren’t happy with having to give me a brand new replacement phone without me having to pay even an excess. But this was agreed on the phone with Customer Service, so suck it up. It was as if I had taken the excess payment from their wages? Absolutely sad bunch of “staff”. I went along with their rubbish, to get my phone replaced for free having to travel to another branch in the process. Apparently you can’t claim on your Apple care unless you have a passport or driving license. They told me it was my fault not having a passport and “had I never been on holiday”!? Mainly the manager was a major snitch with The B at the front. No one told me in advance that I needed photo ID and they said I didn't even need it at their store but it was because I was going to a different store “because they don’t know you at the other store” as if I hadn’t only been to their store for the first time today? Like we were old friends or something? You don’t know me either!? So basically being difficult. I told them sure I’ll go get my passport just remembered I do have one ; - I did not. But when I arrived at the Reading store without it and gave the guy strong signals that if he didn’t give me the phone that had already been assigned to me now they couldn’t go back on it that’s why they grilled me at initial store on if I really do have a passport at home LOL FOOLED YOU ; I gave the reading store guy strong hints that I would remove his head if he didn’t give me my phone and so he reluctantly did. So best advice is to play along with their games if you end up in a similar situation, complain higher up to Apple later and you’ll get a resolution which I did, didn’t have to pay for 2 months Apple care on top of having no excess so In hindsight WORTH IT though infuriating at the time. If anyone from the Basingstoke store would like to meet up for a chat, now that I’ve got my phone, I’d very much be interested, I might pop down next time I’m up that way ;
Went into the store only to find three blonde girls, in their twenties more or less, in green t-shirts chatting to one another at the right, back side of the store. Every other employee in a green shirt was busy with customers, as the store was quite full. I approached them asked them if they could help me. One of them told me “it would be 45 minutes to see a technician”. I said that that’s OK. She took a picture of my Apple ID and she also took my telephone number. That was at around 14:00h. She also told me I will receive three text messages 2 confirmations for the appointment and the last one to confirm the time or the appointment. Now it’s 14:55h and still no text, whatsoever… I went there again and spoke to a very polite man, in his late thirties I assume. He was very kind and nice and helped me. I didn’t want to cause him any concerns, so I didn’t address my issue with those three girls… I think it is important to have a little talk to those girls and possibly retrain them in customer service. I’ve always been treated with kindness and respect in the store and I feel bad I had to write this review…
Absolutely joke of a place.took phone in for a simple battery swap.sent me on my way on day 1,get home,still broken..day 2...made to wait over 6 hours for the repair and go back at 4:50.....coincidentally 10 mins before store shuts,,,guess what you useless t..ts obviously you know!,,,,the phone doesn't work! So you have charged for a replacement battery!?... look forward to seeing you tomorrow...
Great service, very friendly staff and very helpful. I went in to get an iPhone and a MacBook and the staff who helped me was very friendly and when I had an issue was very patient and happily helped me when I returned the next day to finally purchase the items.
Me and my partner were greeted by Will who helped us buy some new AirPods and showed us round the new iPhone 16 Pro max, he was very helpful and would recommend!!!!
Today I had the battery in my iPhone XS Max replaced. The staff were incredibly busy, however they were managing themselves really well and I didn't have to wait that long to 'check in' for my Genius Bar appointment. I left my phone at the store and 2 hours later it was ready for collection. Thoroughly slick service and you can have a play with the latest devices while you're there/waiting.
I was given a time slot on arrival, but was seen quicker than expected. The advisor was knowledgeable and I was happy with the advise and service offered, unlike the awful support provided by Samsung that was chargeable and remote.
My support consultant was quite knowledgeable in his Apple configurations, but lacked the deeper technical knowledge, but was very helpful and tried to answer my questions. The booking system works and I was seen within 5 minutes of arrival and the place was extremely busy. Sometimes Apple products do go wrong. There is a large range of products on view, with items of various configuration and colour options, providing the user with great hands-on experience. There is security at the door for good reason. Overall it was a very good experience
Pretty disappointed to be honest. Finished work in Guildford, Surrey and drove over to the Basingstoke store to buy an iPhone 15Pro. Money in hand! Get to the store just over an hour before closing and I am told they have them in stock but I can’t buy one as I don’t have an appointment..? Now I don’t mean to be “man in his 40’s” Bill Burr philosophical about his but I need to make an appointment to buy a phone now? I have been an apple customer for 20 years+ never have I felt more ridiculous. Like I was supposed to know I can’t just walk into a retail outlet and buy the product that’s for sale? Who knew!?!
