I was very impressed by the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. I had a voucher from the Government's "fix your bike scheme". The shop sorted my hub gear problem and serviced the bike with the whole cost covered by the voucher. I will be returning when it's time for a new bike.
Nice looking bike shop but shame about the woman who runs the shop floor! Possibly the rudest woman I've encountered & she clearly doesn't want to be there. She judges you from the minute you walk in as if you're not good enough to be in her shop. Asked her if they sold certain products to which her response was "no" then another "no we don't sell those". Not an ounce of helpfulness in her. Such a shame as its the only bike shop in the town. Will travel further afield for a nicer experience.
Service was okay, left to stand around on the shop floor for a bit when other staff where in sight working in the back. Also took just over a week for a simple puncture repair and overall service which looking back was not worth it! 70 quid for a bike service is more expensive than an mot for my car, plus I've just read a review here how you gave out a free second hand tire to someone. Puncture repair didn't last inside two weeks and both tires went down and the gears are worse off now then when I brought it in. Not impressed and won't be returning custom.
Just rung to ask about bike availability & I was “greeted” by the rudest woman I have ever had the misfortune to deal with!! She cut me off mid sentence, to ask how much was I looking to spend , when I said around £350 I was told “we are not the right shop for you” and she put the phone down!! What a disgusting attitude - you may think you have a monopoly now with people wanting bikes but you won’t for long with that attitude
We purchased a child's Ridgeback Dimensions bike from here last week. Our daughter Beth was so excited we headed straight to a park to have a go and at first she was a little nervous but within a couple of hours she was doing brilliantly all on her own. Following the shops advice we went for a 20 inch bike and having one that is light made all the difference, which is the benefit of going to an independent store and getting decent advice. Also, getting it adjusted in the shop by professionals meant that it was all ready to go without us spending ages trying to put it together and get it set up correctly! We never thought she would be at this stage after a couple of hours. Great service...
A great little family run shop. Well stocked and they usually have everything that you could need from energy supplements to turbo trainers. Very friendly service and the proprietors will attempt to cut you a good discount where they can. I've just received my third Giant bike from them. This one was custom built to my spec by the chaps in the workshop and they've done a great job.
Refused to let me purchase a bike as it was through the cycle to work scheme and they would have to pay commission. Very disappointing not to be told this when I first called. They are a part of the cycle to work scheme, they just won’t sell you certain bikes using it.
Great store, really good people and give great service. My only observation is when it comes to the Garmin's they need to know the difference from each models and how they differ as in the Garmin Edge 1000 and the Edge 1000 tourer, which is a minor issue, but they are knowledgable on other aspects, so on balance they give a great service and they solved a problem with my bike that another bike shop up the road not connected with them didn't solve and I haven't had that problem again. I can honestly say this shop is worth taking your bike to or going to this bike shop for parts, and accessories
Provided a service and accepted the government voucher as payment. There was just an extra few pounds to pay for new brake blocks. Sorting out a gear/chain adjustment problem was included in the service.
What can I say, super service from a great store. obviously have a wealth of knowledge and not just in the latest stuff. judging by some of the reviews it goes to prove you cannot please all of the people all of the time but what we all need to remember is that the internet will not fix your bike and stores like this offer more than just cheap parts and a " see you later" attitude. use it or lose it !
