I first stayed here for a couple of nights in September to attend an interview. I booked at the last minute as I had short notice of the interview and was driving around Scotland. Martin and Lisa could not have been more hospitable! Helped me with an iron and told me a bit about the workplace I was interviewing for. They are both lovely and welcoming. Also recommended a great pub to have a meal - The Market Pub in town. And to top it off I got the job. I then stayed from middle of Nov until early Dec as I looked for a flat. They have been so helpful and guided me around the local area for shopping, places to live and being willing to extend my stay as it took longer to get the keys to my rental flat. It is such a comfortable place to stay. It is always clean, warm and the breakfast is delicious each day of the week. If you want to stay for a short time or need to stay longer term then I would choose Anis Louise. The hosts definitely make this B and B. Always willing for chat and genuinely interested in each person! I was sad to leave but thankfully I can keep in touch with Martin and Lisa as I now live in the town.
Anis Louise gets better every time I visit. It's just in the right place for hiking in north Derbyshire and Nottingham or cycling the Trans Pennine trail. The rooms are clean and tidy and have everything needed. Off street parking means never having to search the neighbouring streets for a parking space. And the breakfasts ... well, the breakfasts are stupendous ! You can hike the whole day on one of them without getting hungry. Breakfasts like these are what I dream of back home in Germany. There's a range of rooms, one for families, ask for one of the rooms with a double bed if you're looking for nights of passion :-
Fantastic Guest House and hosts I want to say thank you to Martin & Lisa for making me very welcome in their beautiful house, and accommodating my partner overnight as she travelled a long distance onwards the next day, it is a fantastic place. The rooms are lovely, modern and spotlessly clean, being serviced impeccably every day. With having a spinal condition I was hoping the bed would be firm, I wasn’t disappointed, brilliant mattresses on all the 3 beds I slept in, and the double/king size bed was very plush. The shower room is also modern and fitted like it was just put in yesterday, this too cleaned every day to surgical standard, making you feel as if you were the first to use it each morning. Breakfast is cooked at whatever time you wish, by Martin, and is massive, a “full English” that could fill a cart horse, certainly keeps you going through the day,. Martin & Lisa, are lovely people, who made me feel very welcome and in a homely atmosphere immediately, and I am sure would do anything that was asked of them to satisfy anyone. A wee word to say good luck to them and the kids, whom I also met, hope Martin gets on ok next week and the good luck to them all, well done to the kids at Tai Kwon Do, a haggis or two will be accompanying me on my next visit. We recently stayed at The Anis Louise Guest House, we enjoyed our stay. It is definetly NOT old fashioned and no fusty smell anywhere. Lisa and Martin were wonderful and attentive to our needs. Nothing was any trouble at all. We will certainly be staying at The Anis Louise again.....
Great family run BandB. Super cooked breakfast. We booked in at very late notice due to a disaster at another Hotel and the owner was so helpful and welcoming. We stayed in the family room on the top floor which was perfect for us. Stairs are steep but it was cosy and clean. Thoroughly recommended. :
Home from home welcome from the friendly hosts. Centrally located for the town and it's regular markets. Bedroom immaculately clean and comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities, free WiFi, TV/DVD, radio, hairdryer and toiletries. Great freshly prepared breakfast to set you up for a day exploring the surrounding countryside and villages and packed lunches available too.
The hotel is Immaculately clean, bed was really comfortable, Martin and Lisa are the nicest people you will meet, nothing is too much and great to talk too, breakfast at what time you want and delicious. Can't highly recommend this hotel enough.
Lisa and Martin offer the best possible service within easy walking distance from the heart of Chesterfield. Modern light rooms with all the features you would expect and more and always a warm welcome.
Nice clean room, little bit old fashioned with a slight fusty smell. Very good price though, breakfast was included but we didn't attend.
Just a couple minutes from the town center, very friendly owners, fantastic full English in the morning, comfy rooms. Great experience.
