Didn’t put the meter on despite having one, and charged £10 for what should have been a £5 fare. When challenged he just said he didn’t always put the meter on !. Absolute chancers.
Taxi driver got destination wrong so overcharged by putting on meter £25 journey up to £37 - passenger 16 yr old boy!!! When I said behaviour disgusting was told not to phone them again!!! Ripping children off due to not hearing the destination properly Is not acceptable! Driver gave my son £10 cash back after he paid it by card by instructions of his boss! My son doesn’t argue and did as the driver said - I should not have to dispute with a company for fair treatment! This is why taxi drivers have a bad name!
I don’t really leave reviews often but I genuinely felt the need to leave a review for this taxi base. Ive used plenty of taxi bases due to the nature of my work however these guys are the most genuine honest reliable guys around. Very reasonable prices compared to most others and provide a stress free service every time. Thank you and see you very soon!
Such a friendly service, I have used them multiple times now for my airport journeys. Controller is so friendly and helpful - drivers arrive promptly and on time. Reasonably priced compared to others in the area.
Requested a booking online, no one got back to me. Called them myself and was quoted £30 for a journey that two other companies quoted £12 & £13 for. Loads of background noise on the phone call too, very unprofessional. Apparently cabs cost 60% more to run on a bank holiday? Can’t comment on quality of actual service but I can say fairly confidently they won’t be 60% better than the other places, their job is literally pick up and drop off people.

Absolutely amazing service from Ampthill cabs , took the booking with professional manner but also were at the airport on time as promised. The price was also competitive within the surrounding areas but drivers are always friendly and willing to go the extra miles.

Friendly service to rely on, most importantly its family run business that can be trusted on time every time, I use this cab firm for my kids school runs and could be fully trusted all drivers are CRB cleared and provide professional and friendly service. They will never let you down, unlike other taxi firms they commit to you and won’t turn up for hours.
