Queues are always an issue. Fast track which is very expensive was their way of dealing with this which is a form of queue jumping which I don't agree with. They should have more rides of similar intensity which will then spread queue loads between them and also restrict numbers coming in to park to keep queues down. Value for money at present is poor as cannot go on many rides due to queue time. On a positive note, plenty of eating places, excellent aquarium and exceptional gardens to view.
Alton Towers Theme Park is a fantastic destination for thrill-seekers and families alike. The variety of rides and attractions is impressive, offering something for everyone from adrenaline-pumping roller coasters to more gentle, family-friendly rides. The park is well-maintained and the staff are friendly and helpful, enhancing the overall experience. However, the only downside is the long queues for some of the popular rides, which can take away from the fun a bit. If the waiting times were shorter, it would easily be a five-star experience. Despite this, Alton Towers is definitely worth a visit for a memorable day out.
A great day out! We spent 2 days here. A couple of the rides were closed but that didn't spoil our fun. The only downside was you couldn't take your own food in so food was VERY expensive £9 for a hot dog on its own for example! Take extra care of where you are parked as we couldn't find our car on return and we weren't the only ones either. Battle Galleons - you will get wet! River Congo not so much.
The hotel was pretty disappointing but the park itself was awesome. Easily the best theme park we've been to. Loads of rides for all ages and levels of bravery picturesque surroundings and walks make it feel like a holiday and mean there's ample break out space if the kids get a bit excitable and need to run off excess energy or have some calm time away from the crowds. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. Plenty of facilities, clean loos and no long silly queues to use them. Food and drink options aplenty - of course as expensive as always but no more than other theme parks and big days out. It's our new favourite and my son is already planning our next visit!
Always love a trip to Alton Towers! Was busy however that’s expected of course and we still got on everything we wanted to with. We didn’t get fast passes as we were prepared to wait in queues however if you want to get on more things in the day and are happy to pay for them then it’s definitely worth it. Food choices were great and quick service. Can’t wait to return again next year.
We had a fantastic day. Grounds were spotless & the gardens gorgeous when you walked between rides. Waiting time averaged 45-60 minutes & we managed to get on 6 of the major attractions while we were there. Impressed with sheer volume of food & drink available around the park and how it is spread out so you can grab something wherever you are.
We had a great day, we paid for silver fast passes as it looked mega busy driving in and we are glad we did. Some queue times reached 90 minutes at points! I think you need more attractions to cope with the demand on weekends. I think you need more water refill points too we could only find a couple? The app was really helpful and great to see live queue times. I would recommend getting that before you go.
Absolutely loved our visit to Alton Tower. Great Park with a lot of really good rides for all ages. Lovely gardens and plenty of walk-in park due to non-working skyride. We went in school half term, so it was busy with 45 - 60 min queues for couple of rides. The rides were fantastic as always and worth the wait. Be prepare for lots of walking in park and from Car park. I would recommend go again with friends and family.
Honestly the best theme park that I know I always go 1-2 times per year just from the quality of the rides. If you are going to book tickets I would suggest to book them in the early months of the year after the start of June you could be waiting 40 minutes to almost 2.30 hours of waiting. But it is generally a brilliant theme park overall.
I have been to every theme park in the UK multiple times and Alton Towers is by far the best one of all. All of the roller coasters are fantastic but for their own individual reasons. The park grounds are absolutely stunning, with the abandoned castle being the centerpiece. I cannot recommend this place highly enough and I cannot wait to go back with or without my kids.
