Altavona Guest House

Stayed for two nights. Received multiple emails about check in and facilities. Some contradictory some ended up in my junk email folder. That needs sorted. They serve, in their dining room a buffet breakfast which is cold but very good. Tea, coffee and toast is also available. Our room 5 has great views of the sea but is a little cramped but everything needed is there. I would stay there again.

Very authentic, old, fancy and great service level, breakfast delivered to our room in the morning or from the fridge in the room. Beds where amazing. Only downside from my point of view was that there was no shower, only a bath in our room. Also the handles for the sink and the toilet weren't working properly, but you can say its part of the old authentic feel :

This place is a gem. You will not find more welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. The room was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated with the usual facilities including fridge and iron. The breakfast room enjoys lovely views across the bay. Defo a must-stay in the future.Rooms: 5/5

A very plain guest house - small rooms, modest breakfast, nothing to write home about. Wouldn't recommend if you're looking for a nice night with your partner. NOT a good value for money RESPONDING to the owner below as I cant comment directly - we stayed in the annex rooms on the night of the 26th of July, the reservation was under my wife's name.

Stayed here with a tour group for a single night. The check in process was great and the hostess was wonderful with getting us all sorted. There is a key box in the front where the keys are stored and returned. The inside of the home was very nicely decorated. We stayed in room 8 that was on the top floor of three. The staircase was easy to get up. The room was great with tea, snacks, and drinks. Beds were very comfortable and ok for taller folks. Breakfast came up to our room in the morning which was coffee, toast and fruit.

Beautiful home and every plush room is decorated with a different theme. Most comfortable bed and Carol the owner was lovely. Located right on the water with a lovely view!Rooms: 5/5

The stay at Alltavona Guest house was amazing! Me and my wife were hosted in room 6 with the best sea view you can ask for. The room size is generous and very clean, with a king size bed and a smart TV. The amenities in the room are also great, plenty of tea bags and coffee. The bathroom was also very clean and tidy. Carol, the host is very friendly and helpful. The location and the facility are excellent and for sure will be staying again here next year! I highly recomand to stay at Alltavona Guest house!

Great location and interesting decor throughout, but it’s a bit expensive for what it is. There was no toiletries in the bathroom apart from soap, which was a bit disappointing. The breakfast, which was a continental selection with a choice of filled hot rolls served on a tray delivered to the room due to covid was a bit underwhelming as it was common supermarket products, and nothing exciting or local. On the bright side - the bed was very comfortable and there is free parking available at the property.

I would put even more stars if I could! Carol is amazing! She was very kind, helpful and organised especially during these hard times. She was very kind securing our booking during this uncertainty. The room with the sea view is amazing! Perfect views at the bay. The location is very convenient for everything. A stone to the city centre but you can enjoy long walks across the coast as well. The breakfast in the room 10 out of 10. Very tasty, many choices and all fresh ingredients! Overall highly recommended guest house. Thank you guys !
