We knew from the moment we were greeted by the manager that Alston View was the right place for our mum. We had been looking around the Longridge area for a care home for mum, who had been in hospital for over 4 months. On walking into reception at Alston View we were met by professional, kind, understanding, caregivers who understood mums needs completely.nThroughout her final days they went above and beyond to ensure she was looked after in the most comfortable and considerate manner. The care she received was second to none with the hospital manager even overstaying her shift on many occasions to sit with mum when we were not around.nMum was a very discerning person who would not readily give compliments unless they were deserved. She had never wanted anything other than to go home. However when it became apparent that this would not be possible she asked us to find her a place that would be the best possible substitute for home, were her friends and her little dog could visit whenever they were able and she felt secure and cared for in comfortable surroundings. She was completely happy that all her requests had been met and we would, along with mum, absolutely recommend Alston View to anyone looking for a home from home run by professional caring people.
I have been super impressed by the care here at Alston View, the new manager in post has really put her mark on this place, the turn around these last few weeks has been really noticeable.nnResidents are treated with the utmost dignity and respect, nothing is too much trouble and the team here arenproactive passionate and engaging. Although super busy they always have time for their residents and their families. What a lovely warm and welcoming environment!nnI am confident in my mothers comprehensive care plan and can rest assured that she is receiving the best possible care.
I found this home welcoming warm and friendly. It is evident the new manager in post has made a positive impact regarding care and communication. So in my opinion the home is moving in the right direction.
This care home is the worst I have ever come across. It is time CQC and safeguarding visited and assessed for the health and safety of all the residents.nnThere are lots of unsafe practices, they are constantly withholding and also running out of basic medications, they have unqualified staff taking blood, they forget to feed you, they don’t take you to your important hospital appointments, on checking with the hospital I was told 2 appointments had been cancelled and the 3rd Alston told them it was no longer needed, really it was an oncology appointment.nnThey run out of food or chef doesn’t turn up so they have to order takeaways.nnThe amount of staff and management that leave is unbelievable.nnWhen you speak to Jack the Manager, he is very arrogant and you don’t get anywhere, he doesn’t care.nnIt is time this care home was shut down.
Alston views neglect of my father led to his deathnHe had multiple bed sores and one sore which led to him needing his leg amputatednHe was only at Alston View for 6 weeks
