While on a holiday weekend one of our Border Collies hurt their leg playing on the beach. We phoned the practice first thing Saturday morning and were given an appointment within 2 hours. The lady in reception was very helpful, friendly and reassuring. Upon arrival at Alnwick we found the vet's easily and the carpark spacious. Our girl, Nell was booked in and we were actually seen before our given time. Now, Nell is quite anxious of strangers and for our sake and the vets we were given a muzzle for the examination. Simon, the vet was very gentle and reassuring, Nell never even grumbled so we were quite relieved. We were issued with some pain relief for her leg, which made her more comfortable for the rest of the weekend, If you're on holiday in the area and find yourselves in need of veterinary help then we would highly recommend you contact this practice, lovely people and place. Reasonable price too.
We were on holiday and our dog Max became unwell and needed to see a vet so we attended the vets and explained what had occurred and the staff on reception couldn't have been nicer. We were very fortunate and an appointment was available within 30 mins and upon seeing the vet who was so kind, helpful and so very understanding we were given medication, advice and some examples of places to visit while in the area. We can not recommend them enough such kindness and support was given to us and they made us laugh. A huge thank you from us to all the staff. We are home now and Max is fully recovered and being his normal self
Whilst on holiday a month ago our beautiful flat coated retriever who had been unwell for quite some time deteriorated, resulting in us needing an appointment on a Saturday. We met Jodie and her team and their care was faultless. Unfortunately they discovered that Olive had a significant mass on her liver and was at the end of her life. We took the decision to take her home so jodie made her more comfortable for us to do this. She was put to sleep the following day. We have been very sad and shocked but so grateful that alnorthumbria vets were able to give us the answers we had been seeking for why our dog was unwell. We will always remember your care and compassion and wish you were our local vets. From Amy and Richard Brooks....box of chocolates are on there way to you xx
Outstanding. We have 2 labradors. Our old girl is usually very nervous at our old vets. But she is so calm here. We have been coming her for over 2 years now. Staff are so friendly, polite & helpful.
After the most horrific two days, I can’t thank Alnorthumbria Vets enough for the care, compassion and kindness shown to us and our dogs. We made the decision to put our 13 year old boy to sleep which was hard enough. 20 hours later our 5 year old dog contracted an infection and died. Unfortunately I can’t remember the names of any of the vets/other staff that we dealt with, it’s all a blur but without the staff at Alnorthumbria these last few days could have been even more horrific than they already were. Thank you to all the staff for everything over the last few days.
Whilst on holiday in Bamburgh we had the need to visit a vet for our 6 yr old rescue dog who was bitten by another dog. We found everyone from the vet, vet nurse and reception staff to be professional, efficient, caring, empathetic and so good with Lola who like us was really anxious. We are so grateful to them all and would highly recommend this practice.
I visited today after they kindly offered me a short notice appointment. I’m registered with the Ponteland branch but they had no availability, my girl was struggling to pee so I was very worried and wanted a same day appointment. It was well worth the drive, the vet was brilliant with my nervous dog, so kind and reassuring. Also the local beach walk tip was spot on, we had a lovely time on sugar sands after the appointment.
Let me share my store about my dog who suffered and died because these people only care about money. My dog was suffering from an extreme growth under his belly that was discharging and doubling in size overnight, after going to the vets i was quoted 3 thousand pounds to cut it off. I offered to pay 1 thousand pound cash upfront to get his sorted, the vet told me "i have to speak to the account manager about that" then went into the next room, came back and declined me. Bare in mind these people have Apprentices and Students doing all their work for them for next to nothing and this would of took no longer then 1 day to do. Yet i got refused and my poor little dog forces to suffer, because making a thousand pound in 1 day was not enough for them. Absolutley disgusting people, have no care about animals what so ever and its not a vet deciding your animals fate, but someone who manages their accounts. Clearly this person must hate animals or has 0 moralls. After going to another vet the issue was so serve my dog had extreme cancer and they had to put him down straight away. Yet alnnorthumbria tried to get 3 thousand pound of me to cut it off, with NO tests and refused to even help the animal or put him out of his missery.Completley disgusting human beings.
We were staying in the area when our dog became very unwell. Unfortunately we had to say goodbye to him but the vet Richard was the kindest and most compassionate vet I have ever dealt with. He went out of his way to make a very difficult visit as smooth possible. He was so accommodating and helpful. We couldn't have asked for more under the circumstances and I know that our family and dog received the best treatment possible. Thank you so much Richard.
MY PET DIED AFTER BEING TOLD SHE WAS FINE Our pet was brought in on Monday for a consultation as we felt she had an infection due to a crusty eye and nose. We were told there was 0 infection and paid £55 for the consultation. I later called back Wednesday for advice as I felt she was no better and I was assured it was just something which would take time and to bathe her eyes. Feeling reassured, we carried on bathing her eyes at home until Thursday when I called back really concerned however, we were met with the same response - bathe her eyes because they were ‘just dry’. When we got home from work on Thursday night, she had sadly passed away. We of course are heartbroken however when we called back to speak to the manager- we didn’t receive a very nice response . We were told that they are a ‘business’ and do not give out free appointments; so if we were that bothered we should’ve paid another £55 for ANOTHER consultation. She had just been seen 2 days earlier and following vets advice we couldn’t afford to pay another £55 so we thought we’d just keep persevering with the eye baths. Our pet was not only neglected, but would still be alive if seen to properly. We were turned away so many times. This has resulted in the loss of an animals life and 0 consideration from staff. DO NOT USE THIS VETS !!!!
