Would highly recommend McDougall McQueen for selling our old house and buying our new home. We dealt with Sylvia for selling our property and Susan Oats dealt with the conveyancing side. Both were amazing. Susan was very thorough during the whole process which proved to be complex through other external factors. Susan was reassuring and contactable whenever we needed any clarification. We really valued being able to contact Susan and Sylvia with ease and always received a prompt response. This I believe from talking to others is not the case with other solicitors/firms. I would not hesitate to recommend McDougall McQueen and particularly the expertise of Sylvia and Susan. Any other member of staff that we dealt with were also excellent and very approachable.
Not recommended if you have foreign funds while buying a property. We were initially told that it was no problem to have foreign funds and McDougall McQueen seemed very helpful in preparing the proof of our flow of funds from abroad. Then two days before the closing date of the property we were interested in they all of a sudden pulled out, citing that our funds where too much for them to deal with. We were communicating with them for more than two weeks, they knew about our composition of funds from the start and never mentioned this to us. Because of their poor communication we were unable to make an offer on the property that we were interested in.
Excellent service from start to finish. I was kept continually updated via email and phone on the progress of my sale. My contact was Susan Oates and I cannot fault her professional and friendly manner and providing me with reassurance during a very stressful time. Costs were extremely competitive and I would have no hesitation recommending McDougall McQueen and Susan Oates to family and friends. Thank you.
Excellent service from start to finish. Stress free process and continually updated by staff. The final conveyancing was very professionally completed. My normal solicitor was too busy to arrange the sale for me and he recommended McDougall McQueen. Overall a highly professional service from start to finish.
Unfortunately our experience with McDougall McQueen was extremely poor. We purchased a property from them and they ignored our solicitor for weeks. Eventually, 2 days before we were due to settle, someone finally got back to our solicitor and we were told that the original paralegal who had been dealing with the case was on holiday and none of the relevant reports or paperwork had been completed. There were multiple issues of lack of communication resulting in them being unaware of a change in purchase price and also when we eventually got keys the property was still furnished even though our solicitor had stated to them that we wanted the furniture removed however like multiple other things they didn’t pass this information on to their client. If this is what they’re like when buying a property from them I couldn’t recommend using them to purchase.
Delighted with a great service from McDougall McQueen. Bobby and Shannon have both been great on a successfully concluded recent sale and are proactive with regard to a pending transaction. Very much appreciate the service from them and the wider team.

Absolutely brilliant service from McDougall McQueen recently when I had to sell my Mum's house to fund her nursing home fees. All interactions with their team from my initial enquiry right through to after sale queries were dealt with in a very timely manner. The team were really supportive and helpful and very sympathetic to my situation as everything had to be done from a distance as I am not local. They went over and above to help facilitate things like lock changes, taking final meter readings etc. It was a really seamless, professional, friendly and supportive service - highly recommend. Thank you to all at McD & McQ but special thanks to Alasdair Matheson and Susan Oates who could not have been any more helpful, responsive and reassuring throughout the whole process!
DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY AND Graeme Kenneth Dunn Lindsay & Veronika Lindsay IN ANY MEANS. I've been tormented by this solicitors and their clients for a good few weeks now. They have cause me great financial damage and these people should be ashamed of themselves. I cannot speak for all their clients they deal with, but if you have anything to do with Graeme Kenneth Dunn Lindsay and/or Veronika Lindsay I would steer clear from any business. And if these are their solicitors type of client I would not deal with these solicitors at all.
