Not happy this morning.nThe shower room and changing room is poor and unhygienic, dated.nI have anxiety and nervous stress disorder with mental health and am deaf. The all-season leisure pool was overcrowded during the lane swim. Not expecting the school kids were having lessons in one lane and there were 2 empty lanes not been used so only 3 lanes which I couldn't swim cause was too many people and uncomfortable there. I only stayed just 15mins my anxiety getting worse and getting panic and I had to get out. I have complained to reception and I saw the manager was young! I was so angry and told him forget it and walked out!
Just came to the Leisure centre with a customer whom has additional needs and myself carer were turned away for the concessionary swim.nnThe staff member told me that is a restricted timetable. However, having found this information snapshot suggests there isn’t and I showed this to them with evidence that says otherwise.nnIn my own personal opinion, having a ‘restricted timetable’ for individuals whom need assistance for them to enjoy basic life pleasures such as an activity, which helps stimulate and provide positive mental wellbeing. Quite frankly is ridiculous, it is constricting those whom are trying to improve their health and wellbeing and can be a deterrent for people.nnConstricting those that require support to enjoy an activity to certain days and times is unacceptable as an individual may prefer evening time/weekend. This is a deterrent for those people and you need to reconsider this method in all honesty.nnIn addition from my prospective this is direct discrimination for people whom require a carer or a person/family member etc to be with them whilst enjoying an activity Disability Act and Equality & Diversity Act under protected characteristics. By saying ‘you can only come to the leisure centre on specific days and times’.
Showers and changing rooms are grubby. They pack so many people into the pool during fun swims that you cannot move. The life guards are over zealous, constantly blowing their whistles at everyone. They accuse children of not being able to swim and parents of lying about it. They also kicked everyone out before the hour session had finished. Id recommend finding a different leasure centre, I know I am.
Been going here over a year, I mainly use the gym facilities. I’ve had overall pretty good experiences, it’s hygienic, machines wiped down and many times I’ve seen staff towards closing time hoovering/wiping down surfaces. The staff are pleasant and friendly enough and don’t bother- it’s a small gym and the price is fair. One negative of it being a smaller gym is I’d love to see a stair master and possibly an extra smith machine as it is constantly always being used. It can get very busy from 4:30-6pm which can be quite disappointing but totally understandable. The women’s changing rooms have always been clean as for the bathrooms, one downside is the showers are completely open? It’d be nice to see a curtain or a door be put in place for privacy and to be more comfortable. One more issue I see which doesn’t particularly bother me but is concerning, multiple groups going straight into the gym and not checking in? Overall, it’s a great gym, everyone’s friendly and isn’t a negative environment in my experience!nP.S. PLEASE GET A STAIRMASTER!!
Kids swimming lessons are awful, its a different teacher every week. Changing rooms smell like people are urinating in them, and its the same every week, never seemed to get cleaned. I've complained multiple times about it and the staff dont care.
