Really surprised by all the 5* reviews about the “friendly” customer service they received. The elderly lady behind the counter was one of the rudest women I’ve ever met. Tried dropping off a UPS parcel, only to be met with shouting/barking orders at me to turn the parcel around. No hello/goodbye, please or thank you. It’s not hard to be polite or show decent manners. People with a superiority complex should NOT be in customer facing roles. I would advise anyone who’s dropping off a UPS/Amazon parcel to go anywhere but here!
Popped in for a bottle of Dubonnet earlier and was met by 2 friendly faces, and 1 very helpful lady who took my money. I took the booze and headed home. I shall now combine with gin I already had. If it’s good enough for the Queen Mother, I’m sure it’ll be fine for me. Great service and knowledgable staff. Thankyou.
I would highly recommend Delwyn and her staff - they are very knowledgeable, with lots of suggestions regarding different wines. They have the best selection of whisky’s I’ve seen and are reasonably priced too. They also have some nice gourmet food that is really tasty.
Love coming in and getting great advice for both my wife and family. I've picked up some brilliant Rums, Gins and wines all on recommendation and never disappointed. Much better than hit/miss I've had from the supermarket
The best selection of wines from around the world with super friendly & helpful staff. So happy to find a beautiful bottle of Cab Sav from Tokara in South Africa. Highly recommend a visit!
This is my favourite place to buy wine and whisky. There is a wide range of drinks and I always find what I'm looking for. The staff are very friendly, experienced, attentive, always ready to help and provide advice.
Great shop. Wonderful selection of wine from all over the world. Huge display of spirits especially whisky, gin and rum. I went in for cocktail ingredients I could not get anywhere else and was very pleased with the selection and also the accessories. Staff are knowledgeable and very polite and helpful. Also helpful that you can drop off and pick up UPS parcels.
Third time visiting this shop to drop off a parcel, and have received really rude and poor customer service, not even a hello! Lady / owner uses gestures instead of simple, polite communication. As a local independent business I’m surprised this place is still here, maybe people buying wine receive a completely different experience
Amazing shop, friendly and informative staff. Nothing is too big or too small and do their upmost to help with any queries. Quick fast delivery service locally but also offer it far and wide. Online ordering is easy to access, looking forward to more delicious treats including their yummy pates and delicious Sherry. Louise
I'm not the kind of person to complain on here but like the last few reviews I had a similar experience. It's really ruined my day. I used to come into the store quite often when times were better for me but COVID has really affected my income so my purchase of luxuries have decreased since. I used to enjoy chatting to the team about their beer selection and I used to buy the beautiful Pussers Rum carafes they sold for my late grandfather but today, I had what could only be described as a nearly aggressive encounter when sending a UPS package. I really hope things pick up for them but I won't be returning for a long while.
