This was my worst experience, and I will not be returning to this shop. I highly discourage others from visiting as well. The service provided by the cashier, especially the shop manager, was extremely poor.nnI used a £50 note at the self-checkout because there were no signs indicating that the machines did not accept £50 notes. Unfortunately, the machine froze, and despite the efforts of a staff member who tried to assist me, we couldn't resolve the issue. The screen logged out without providing change, and the staff member had to inform the manager. Regrettably, the manager was impolite and unprofessional in her response. She informed us that the machines couldn't accept £50 notes, and spoke in a punitive tone, implying that it was my fault. However, without any prior notice, it's unreasonable to assume customers would know this.nnI remained quiet but felt very uncomfortable. I didn't receive any information about why I had to wait for about 30 minutes or how long it would take to resolve the issue. Eventually, they returned £40 to me, stating it was the maximum they could provide, with an unpleasant tone. They mentioned reviewing CCTV footage to confirm my claim, but only offered £40 instead of the correct amount £43.xx. I explained that I didn't receive any change because I had already inserted all my coins before the £50 note. One of the coins didn't register, so I had to take it back, which didn't result in any change. A few minutes later, they returned £3.xx to me.nnIf the machines cannot accept certain notes, it would be helpful to have a notice indicating so. The staff could also benefit from additional training, particularly in improving their attitude towards customers. I kindly suggest using a more polite approach to address such issues in the future.nnOverall, my experience at the store was disappointing, and I hope this feedback can contribute to improvements in customer service.
Visit this store regularly for my shopping or bits I need always good service and polite staff. But I have noticed that on most occasions the female workers are the ones running around doing all the work when the male workers just seem to stand about talking.
Recently refurbished shop with car park and EV charge points. Good selection of foods fresh and in cool cabinets. Nice check-out, staffed and self check-out.
Great store, always a great selection of things especially that pesky middle aisle! Staff are always friendly & happy to help.
Aldi is hit and miss, love the lasagne and hash browns but most times i buy fresh fruit or veg it's mouldy in a day or 2
