Very rude! A person called Charlie who works here is extremely rude and treats you with total disrespect. His behaviour is as if he’s the gods and we should never ask him a question, never lets us speak. I’ve had a very bad experience, never going back to them and suggest you all to not trust the positive reviews. So firstly this guy comes to the viewing 10 mins late and rush the viewing. I told him clearly that it would be me and husband living in the property, I’ll be flying next week for 4 weeks and my husband would be searching for a job when he comes back. He said he won’t be able to have the contract on my husband’s name unless he sees him in person but will be able to go forward with mine. He also said if my husband had savings for 3 months rent, then he can give him a contract after seeing him. All this made sense. He calls me in the evening asking for the 16 digit card number, which is extremely unsafe. I asked him for a bank account and he goes “I can’t change the process for you, if you don’t want it, then I can find someone else”. I said I’ll double check with the banks and call you back. Called him back in 15 mins and he won’t pick up or message. I tried calling him till the day of my flight, he didn’t pick up, so I called in the office on the day of the flight, told a lady that I’ll be travelling today, I’m not sure how to pay the deposit. Guess what, she sends me a BANK ACCOUNT detail for transferring. Why didn’t he send me this earlier when I asked? I called Charlie outside UK to double check if I can pay the deposit. He goes I can’t do it now because you’re out of the country. I told him that I’ve clearly told you that this will be scenario and I even spoke with one of the staff. He literally goes “I can’t be having babe talks with you. I’m not going forward with you.”. That’s literally super harsh for asking why aren’t you guys keeping up your words?! It’s good for me to not go with you guys! I literally cried when I said what happened to your staff. Genuinely, you guys need to give this guy Charlie some customer service training. He’s not the only busy person around and he literally need to stop behaving like he’s god and everyone must listen to what he says!
I filled in an application form online and a woman called me. I asked her if they accept benefits given that they're long-term and would easily cover at least 30x the rent and she said no. When I asked why, she said "we just don't accept benefits" that's not an actual, intelligible answer. Next time, if you don't know the answer to something, say that. Then, let the person enquiring know that you'll check with management as to why and then be in touch. That is how you provide basic, bare minimum customer service.
HORRIBLE. AVOID. Incredibly bad communication. Unreasonable. They kept asking me for a share code because I have an indefinite leave to remain permit, which means they don't understand standard landlord practices. Fair enough. This is a guardianship. I explained to them the situation and they aren't willing to understand. No reply. No one bothers to send me one line of email to say "we're working on it", nothing! On the last call, they started tellling me how I should've done their work for them to "send them a home office document like someone else has done in your situation"...........I had already sent them the website link to obtain a right to rent check from the home office by inputting my information. A simple reply to my email to fill it out for them and I would have done it straight away! Told me I would be too demanding for them for wanting basic professionalism from them. Once again, AVOID. Perhaps it depends on which managers you get. I want to say thanks to Julius who was helpful throughout. My difficulties were with Dean Tidy. Edit to add on to the reply: So many contradictions. First they claimed my right to rent was unlawful, to which it isn't, so they flipped on their "process" and told me "I should have sent them the form because someone else did it when they had the same permit as you"... this is something that is meant for landlords to fill in. Now once again they're going on about not changing processes. Make up your mind! All this because they simply can't swallow their pride to say "sorry, we misunderstood".
I have been so blessed having Charlie as my property/ tenant manager. From the first phone call to the last seconds of handing my keys to me, he has been absolutely amazing. I have had millions of questions and he was so patient and helpful throughout the process. Thank you again Charlie for making this move so easy and quick for me. Highly recommend this company to anyone who is interested in becoming a Property Guardian.
From the initial contact to handing over the keys, Daryl has been exceptional. He went above and beyond the call of duty to support us and understood our circumstances and was able to advise us accordingly. Even when there was an unusual delay in receiving our reference, Daryl showed empathy and guided us on the right action to take to speed up the process. Daryl is a great representative of Ad Hoc and I'll be referring friends and family to Ad Hoc via Daryl as I know they'll be in safe hands. Thank you!
This company won't accept people who revive in work benifit pip for a disability which I feel is discrimination and they shared my personal data with another company called Ambika!
I had an amazing customer experience as a Guardian with Charlie Ad Hoc Property. He’s very helpful and excellent communication throughout the process. Professional and outstanding service with respect to you as a Guardian. Thank you Charlie
Absolutely dreadful! They have zero customer service, you call and leave a message and they don’t return the call. When you eventually get through to talk to someone they show you a property, then waste your time to tell you it’s no longer available whilst you’re standing in the property! The worst people to deal with are Dean who acts like he’s allergic to picking up a call and Andrew who makes promises he can’t keep! Andrew, just keep quiet no one asked for false promises! I ended up renting from someone else. Wouldn’t recommend these people to someone to an enemy if I had one, they’re THAT BAD! AVOID! In response to the Ad Hoc response: My experience was from June - September 2022…THIS IS HOW BAD YOUR SERVICE IS! It didn’t have taken this long to communicate! As I had a family member I’ll from Aug 2022 until their passing writing my review at the time wasn’t my priority! Plus there were other members of staff who’s names I didn’t get, that were also awful to deal with! It seems to be the attitude of your office!
Ad Hoc Property is doing a great job in providing alternative housing to the public. I must recommend Charlie Mcmonagle was very professional and helpful, he loves his job.
So many opportunities and experiences gained while I lived at this adhoc property in the heart of Shepard’s bush. I recommend this agency who have looked after me for the last 3 years here and prior to this, in a lovely building which was an ex community mental health hospital in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.
