I was with carrot insurance for a year and got in a crash, it has took me around 6 months of endless calls trying to get through on calls when I get through to a department they say they can’t help me because I have been put through to a wrong department so they transfer me to another one just for them to tell me they can’t help because its the wrong one? I have only ever had 3 people on the phone who actually know how to do the job properly the rest of them shouldn’t work there in the first place if they don’t know even in the slightest how to help.
Avoid Acorn Insurance at all costs!nnI was in an accident four weeks ago, and my car is still sitting on my driveway—all because I want to use a garage of my choice for repairs. Acorn is clearly using pressure tactics to force customers into their cheap, low-standard garages.nnI’ve made countless phone calls, been given false promises, and had multiple emails ignored. I feel completely helpless. I have hire and reward insurance because my job requires me to use my car, yet I’ve now been unable to work for nearly five weeks. This is an absolute disgrace and should not be allowed!nnI’m being pushed into financial difficulties, struggling to pay my mortgage and support my family, all because Acorn refuses to handle this properly. To make matters worse, there’s no management to speak to—which might explain why nothing ever gets done.nnStay well away from this company!
Wow lots of negative reviews on here, I can only assume Acorn has taken onboard all the negative reviews prior and made improvements. I took out a taxi policy with Acorn, but due to an administrative error on their part, my policy was canceled. They refunded me, and I subsequently took out another policy with them. However, my new coverage came with an increased premium because the cancellation was recorded. I reached out to Acorn's Complaints & Resolution Team to explain the situation regarding the increase and the cancellation. Although their resolution process typically takes 8 weeks, they managed to resolve the issue in just 1 day. They issued a full refund for the increased premium on the new policy and reinstated the canceled policy, which effectively wiped the cancellation off my record which had been clean for 42 years. Additionally, they deducted a goodwill payment from the reinstated policy, meaning I had a lower amount to pay. As with any business involving computers and telephone communication, errors can happen; the important thing is how a business handles the error. Acorn has a dedicated team to resolve issues, and I was impressed with the way this issue was handled. Hope my premium is low next year so I can remain with Acorn Insurance.

Save yourself the stress and avoid this company at all costs.nnI’ve had an awful 2-year experience with Acorn Insurance, and I would never recommend them to anyone. On October 1st, 2024, my car was rear-ended by a van driver—completely not my fault.nnBefore leaving my car at the workshop, I confirmed with Acorn about my 2-year No Claims Bonus NCB, and they assured me it wouldn’t be affected.nHowever, after a month and a half, when I finally left my car for repairs, they wrongly placed the fault on me and added the claim to my insurance.nnThis company doesn’t care about their customers. They’re not an insurance provider, they’re brokers who don’t fulfill their responsibilities.nIt’s like dealing with a bunch of thieves and cowboys—dishonest and unhelpful.nTheir customer service is non existent. no one was ever ready to help. I’ve made multiple calls with no resolution and am still waiting for them to refresh my account. Shocking company - cancelled my sons insurance based on his non responding to a request for payment to remove a named driver which he had not received, they claimed they had sent a reminder and then a 7 day cancellation warning - he received none of these emails! When asked if they could prove he had in fact received and read them they said no but they were certain they were sent - we asked for an appeal process they said not possible because the refund was already being processed - we asked to speak to a superior and was told there was no one available despite her having left us briefly to speak to her supervisor - AVOID - seriously this system is stacked against young drivers and although we would never drive without insurance I can absolutely understand why some choose to. Acorn insurance do not help at all.
