After many years of wear, my engagement ring was in need of repair, the claws holding the stone were broken and damaged. I have just collected it and am chuffed to bits! It looks just like new. As well as the claws being repaired the whole setting has been restored, the ring has been polished and the diamond is super sparkly. The fantastic memories of when I first wore it and admired it sparkling in the sunshine 25 years ago came flooding back! Thank you so much to the amazing goldsmith and the lovely staff at Abbey Jewellers!
A wonderful jewellers in the heart of Berkhamsted! I always love looking in the windows to see what lovely pieces they have in. The staff is always helpful and kind and I always come away with pieces that I love. They were particularly helpful when I wanted to have two rings made on two separate occasions one a very simple rose gold design and one more complicated made from some diamonds that came from my grandmother. They made quite an emotional experience very special. Highly recommend!
My fiancé at the time now my wife and I needed some wedding rings made for our wedding, mine was quite a straightforward band, however my wife's needed to match her engagement ring. The engagement ring has a very complex pattern on the band and Shakela at Abbey was excellent in taking that away to see what could be done. The result, was something that my wife was even more happy about than the original engagement ring. Hand etched and just beautiful. I should have deducted a star for that, since they upstaged my original engagement ring, however that would not be fair...you can probably tell she said yes, just like I say yes to going here every time I need to find that perfect sparkly gift for my wife.
I approached Simon and the team at Abbey to design and make a diamond ring, this was a very sensitive issue as the diamond belonged to my beautiful mother who recently passed. They were amazing from start to finish, compassionate, dedicated, and Simon's advice was flawless, the result is the most beautiful ring imaginable which I will cherish always. The service has been exceptional throughout, the cost very reasonable Simon always gave me options and alternatives. I couldn't praise him and the rest of the staff enough. I will always go back to Abbey.
So disappointed with Abbey. I had them remove a couple links from a watch I bought for my partner. Not only did they not do this but they lost pieces and couldn’t put the watch together again. They told us they would send it out to be fixed by a specialist, after a month of not hearing anything I went in and asked what happened. They never sent the watch out, basically forgot about us and had done nothing to the watch. They handed it back to me broken and missing pieces. Not one apology or offer to help fix it. Stay away!!
We bought both our wedding rings here, Simon was very helpful. We had a custom designed ring made and turnaround was quick. Very happy with the service and would recommend them to anyone looking to buy wedding rings.
I commissioned a signet ring for my eldest son and heir to the family estate. The staff could not have been more personable and charming. The engraver's work was excellent. Would recommend and I do this rarely.
I was told twice to take off my hat so the unadvertised CCTV could get a clear look at me. No "how can we help" here. This is the second time my family has been treated in a patronising and arrogant manner by this shop. Two non purchases. One a 35th wedding anniversary gift the other an engagement ring. Fortunately Amulet on Lower Kings Road were lovely and couldn't have been more helpful. I would avoid if at all possible.
Although I usually encourage people to support local, small businesses, I would advise against purchasing anything from Abbey Fine Jewellery. I bought an item in January 2011 and was promised a refund if it was unsuitable. The refund was refused by the owner, Mr Eames. In the end I had to take the matter to High Wycombe County Court, where in May 2012 I won my case and was awarded a full refund plus interest and costs. Although my approach to this matter was businesslike throughout, Mr Eames' letters became more and more insulting. In his correspondence he called me accusatory, deliberately disingenuous, erroneous, untruthful, a twister of the truth; accused me of smearing his staff and of being divisive, ridiculous and a time-waster who creates downright lies. He has also called me unsubtle, ludicrous and a conjurer of re-collections, as well as manipulative and devious. The documents containing these insults and more are on record as part of the court case. After this incident it is my opinion that although a customer is greeted with an initial high level of service, this may mask an underlying contempt from the owners, especially if anything goes wrong with the transaction. I would recommend you purchase your jewellery items elsewhere, and ensure the shop you choose has a clearly defined and documented refund procedure.
I’ve shopped here a few times now and can honestly say I have been impressed every time. The staff are so helpful and friendly. I will be shopping nerd again this Christmas. A very Merry Christmas and a big thank you to all the staff.
