Although most of the food was tasty, the staff were looked unhappy, some food seemed to have been cooked a day in advance. I'm pretty sure when I was a child, 25-30 years ago I went to this restaurant and the decor hasn't changed since then. Seems a shame as the restaurant has potential.
Rude staff shouted to me about my disabled friend and advised once we were in the restaurant that her wheelchair was too wide and if we break the door we owe her £400 to fix the door. We in no way damaged the door. She spoke to me instead of my friend as if she wasn't there. Rude staff, will never return. Also was rude to me about having a toddler in the pushchair. Not family friendly, not accessible and rude.
Service was appalling. Our main meal was served by a person with a coat on, very unprofessional. Not one smile from the workers. Had to go to the desk to ask to order more starters. Also asked for a jug of water and was asked to use our own glasses which before had coke and lemon in. The food was saturated in grease. Not even a thank you when we paid and left. Will not be returning. Not worth £17 per head.
The best Chinese buffet option in Banbury. The staff are lovely and never leave you with an empty plate. The food is mostly great, especially their chicken satay and their duck pancakes. The price is a little steep, especially when compared to other similar options not so far away, but definitely not bank breaking.
OK so the decor is straight out of the 80's and the staff can be a bit to the point, but when you get to know them they are lovely. The food here is just lovely, you can't ask for anymore.
This is a great place to go out for food. The food is hot and very tasty. Lots to eat too. Only thing I can say thats slightly negative is that the decor needs a freshen up and toilets need re doing. No hot water.
I must call myself the unlucky one,been working 12 hours and called the A1 Chinese restaurant at 21:03 and ordered a simple chow main with some bamboo shootsnever found any and lemon chicken,went and picked it up at 21:35,well that food goes to the authority to be tested,never ever in my life have tasted anything like that,metalic sour taste in the lemon sauce,chicken hardly to be found in all that dough and tasted off,noodles I really can't explain. So sick right now,all I see and smell my stomach is upside down, really liked this restaurant but not anymore.seriously didn't need this after a long working day
We are here on the last night of the A1, as a family we have been coming here for over 20 years and it's been amazing.We wanted to be here on their last night. We were expecting it to be really good but very disappointed, the service is slow, the food came out in dribs and and drabs and some of the menu not available. We wish them luck in their retirement but wished they went out on a high and not like this.
Visiting Banbury for the 1st time. Ate from the al a carte menu. Fantastic paper wrapped prawns staff gave advice on how to make them myself. Really tasty main dishes, took home what I couldn't eat. Recommend to anyone. Hot plates and fresh food, quick service and friendly staff.
This chinese restaurant is worth a go. The food is amazing. I have had many meals here. We also use the takeaway next door as its all one owner. And we have never hed bad food or had to wait more than the time stated. The staff at both are friendly and helpful.
