Me an my wife went here for the breakfast, it was our first time, and also our last time here. Never ever anywhere else I came across a breakfast with forced Tea... I came for a full english breakfast, but always have it with coffee, but at 51 North, I was forced to have it with tea, which I don't like.

When I asked if I could have coffee instead of tea, as I do anywhere else and am confronted with a smile and a "sure", here at 51 North, Horley, the answer I had was "No. You can't. We don't do that."... When I asked why, I was told "I don't make the rules." by the barman.

This is disappointing and wrong. There are far better places around, near by, for breakfast where you can choose between coffee or tea and a pleasant service.

Very busy and therefore cramped eating experience. We booked a table but were sat right next to the front door, so we’re constantly bumped and brushed past. Took over an hour for mains to arrive, food was ok, but to be honest we would have enjoyed anything after that long waiting.

Don't go here if you're a parent of a young child or baby. I was immediately ushered into a corner upon my arrival because 'buggies aren't allowed past the front area' so was forced to sit by the opening front door. I'd understand if the place was busy and the buggy may have obstructed the walkway, but the place was empty. They also didn't seem to want to be polite as I said I only wanted a coffee. There is also no baby changing table/facilities. Just stick to Costa next door, where the service is better and the coffee is nicer!

Unfortunately the excellent food wont be the lasting impression. The service was excellent too, in fact it was fine up until the manager had to become involved. A very bland cocktail was served to me, and the first response from the manager, via the waitress was it was standard measures, its how its meant to be. I objected that it was very poor and I was not willing to accept it. The response to this was, we've knocked it off your bill, and here is your bill, which felt very much like a **** off. Such a poor response ruined what was setting up to be an excellent experience. Short sighted.
