Ate early evening on a Monday. We were the only people in the restaurant and there was two phone calls for takeaway/delivery orders whilst we were in. We both ordered the £15 set menu which came with complimentary stale prawn crackers. Our starters were amazing, hot and tasty but like several others have commented our main courses despite a wait between courses, were luke warm at best. This was a pity as they were tasty
Ate with a work group here yesterday. The food was superb and reasonably priced for the large group buffet we had. The menu had a variety of dishes, would definitely call it pan-Asian. Staff kept an eye on us and cleared tables promptly. Would make it five stars if the drinks were a little larger or cheaper as that was where we felt a little short changed.
We called in for a takeaway, sat down in comfortable chairs with a glass of wine each whilst the food was prepared. Polite staff and nice atmosphere. It cost us £29 including the wine and there was enough for four. Great value and very tasty food.
Bad service, bad prices, rude racially stereotyping staff. Last week I went here with my mum for my birthday dinner. My mum had booked the table online and placed a birthday request for a small cake with a candle or something to that effect. My mum was willing to pay for the arrangements if needed but this is normally on the house in restaurants that provide standard customer service and hospitality. My mum did not receive an email back saying there was any issues, so she correctly thought everything was set as this was the case in previous restaurants visited for birthdays. Upon arrival they said they had received the birthday request and still said nothing about not being able to fulfil it. At the end of the dinner, nothing happened, the request was not fulfilled – they simply did not bother. The whole time from arrival, the staff’s attitudes apart from one nice waitress was very cold and unwelcoming. We felt like it was a troublesome thing for them or serve us by their behaviour. Ruining my birthday was not enough apparently because the food was horrible. The chicken was rubbery and slimy, seasoning was all wrong and the dishes are not as one would expect. The Szechuan chicken was not even spicy, nor did it contain any Szechuan peppercorns! We spent around £40 on food that we did not even want to eat and bad hospitality. Do not come here if you want to feel special on your birthday or want decent Chinese food. Before the owner says we got an email stating that there was no birthday service available - we did not receive any email. Also, my family and I have travelled the world and are accustomed to different cuisines so it's racist to assume we didn't like the food because we are ethnically Indian and "more familiar" with Indian food - this is what the owner responded with on my trip advisor review. This racial stereotyping is even more insulting since he assumed based on our ethnicity that we don't know what Chinese food tastes like despite us having lived in Hong Kong and still frequently have Chinese cuisine as part of our regular diet. Apparently he thought we were difficult from the minute we walked in so didn't treat us well. Maybe the owner shouldn't be in the hospitality business if he judges customers in one glance and by their skin colour.
I ate at Zumi's as part of a group as all my friends recommended it. It took them 45 minutes to serve starters and then once it quieted down it was a further hour for all mains to be served. We were perplexed as there was a 20 minute gap between the first and last main to be served, meaning some of the mains were cold by the time we all started eating. There were only 8 of us. No apologies or discounts offered. Better yet, they tried to overcharge us.
Worst experience of my life, it was last week and we booked in advance, it was me my wife and her family mum, dad and sister. We sat down and it looked nice. But then that’s where are good experience ended, it turned bad and we had to wait 40 minutes just to get a drinks order. Considering we booked for 7:30 we thought they would be quick and it was my wife’s birthday, it stressed her out and she left crying, we didn’t get our starters until 8:40ish and we didn’t get our main still 9:40, we complained and they manager didn’t care he kept referring to the menu going this is what it says here you have to wait 90 minutes to 120 minutes. We asked for money to be taken off and he was discussed that we asked that. Such an abusive place, don’t eat there. also the food was like ready meals.
Awful experience. Went there for my birthday and took 35 minutes to take drink orders when we told the manager we hadn't had drinks order taken he told us to wait and went and served someone else to take there take out order. No one explains how there menu works which is confusing and done purposefully so you run out time to order more food as you can only order 2 things at a time and when it does arrive OVER A HOUR LATER the portions are tiny and the was mediocre as best. Then top of complained at the end and manager had the audacity to argue and through a menu at my sister like a child. Terrible. Will never go back.
Absolutely gorgous food, great staff and service. The selection of food for the banquet is vast and delicious.
Average, but pleasant food. The stalff were delightful, with the exception of one male/white who was officious and abrupt. He acted more like a bouncer! Maybe I'll give it another go - I'm not sure due to a disappointing first experience.
Good quality chinese and thai food. Service can be a little slow as they don't like you to get through their buffet style food too quickly. Overall, you don't really need a buffet menu as a starter, 2nd starter and a main are more than enough!
