We went to Zizzi in Sevenoaks at the request of our six year old daughter for her birthday. It was a bit of a shambles. Order was taken quickly but then the children’s starters came really late the order apparently had got lost. Then another 45 minutes before pizzas. No one cleared the starters in the meantime. Mine was half the size of my wife’s and the dough wasn’t fully cooked. My wife’s had a hair on it. Side salad was small and grim with slimy lettuce. See picture below. Zoom in if you have the stomach for it. Only eaten any of it at all because of levels of hunger after wait. Even so, I didn’t finish my pizza. This is unheard of. Having raised with waitress they didn’t charge us for any of it, but after previous experience we left before dessert. Gents loos were in a horrific state with hand lotion all over the floor. We were told service issues were due to manager and head chef walking out that day. Strangely had very similar excuse last time we were in there before lockdown. There won’t be a next time.
I’ve been to so many zizzi restaurants but this one was the best so far the place was decorated nicely , the staff were friendly the food was nice and hot I definitely recommend it .
Ordered a rustica margherita, it arrived 1h later than announced and it wasn’t a delivery issue. The pizza was very poor quality, no basil and very little quantity of tomato sauce and mozzarella. It was like eating dry bread crust ! so disappointing.
The staff were friendly and the service excellent. Unfortunately that's the end of the good points. The menu has lost the majority of it's appeal for us. They appear to smother nearly every main dish with either pork, ham or salami. The reason for this is because without this ingredient the dishes taste incredibly bland and flavourless. It's a real shame as Zizzi's used to be one our family favourites. This is a restaurant that I can no longer recommend. *Update 06 Feb 2022 Visited again and the menu has changed and I'm afraid the menu has gotten worse. No courgette fries more bacon, pancetta and pork based food ingredients. If this is your food based group, this is the restaurant for you. I still can't recommend. Here's a photo of our over microwaved broccoli.
Brilliant lunch here. Felt very welcome with our baby. The staff were fab, checking for allergies and then advising how to access the allergy menu. In particular one young lady whose name I didn't catch who recommended a pizza that has to be my number one favourite of all time! Very hearty portions, my group could barely waddle to the car afterwards, but a wonderful range to pick from and everyone was delighted.
We went on Wednesday 4/01 for lunch. 2 waiters with about 6 tables. Waiters weren’t friendly, have no idea how to do their job, tables were full of empty glasses, we ordered two kids meals one plate was delivered to us, the other to another table. The ice cream took 20 minutes, no hi or bye. Very bad!!
Ordered a pizza and a large portion of chips via Deliveroo, who I have no issue with at all they did their part of the job really well. Pizza was obviously not cooked to order as was like a piece of cardboard and was cold, they hadn't even taken the time to slice it and my pizza wheel wouldn't go though. The chips were cold and barely enough of them so not sure how it was classed as large. The order arrived within the 30 minutes stated so no excuse for it to be cold.
This restaurant has always been our choice for family celebrations. Was disappointed at how downhill it has gone. The experience started out ok. Waiter was friendly and took drink and food orders quickly. The softail ordered was tasteless. Two of us ordered spag bol, it was dry and didn't appear to contain any meat. The calzone has shrunk and no longer has Parma ham on it. Had to flag down a waiter to get some parmesan and the rest of our order. This took a good 5 minutes. Waiters kept taking our plates before everyone at the table had finished eating. This made us feel rushed. No 'is everything ok' visit from waiter. I think we will go elsewhere next time we want to go out for a family celebration dinner.
Mothers day fail. Someone forgot a load of starters, so had members of the party sat waiting for starters whilst others had finished. Food was OK when it arrived. Would have preferred to spend my money in an independent restaurant in hind siteFood: 1/5
The campagna pizza is sooo good and the millionaires cake is lush too. My friend and I were there with our two rowdy and excitable 4 year old and the staff were very tolerant. Only negative would be that the toilets were looking a tad tired and not as clean as I would expect at the beginning of a lunch service. Kid-friendliness: They were very accepting of our noisy kids. Lots of space to run around too!
