How this takeaway is rated so highly is beyond me. As seen in my photos, I ordered a Chicken Curry and a Chicken Fried Rice. What I got was some chicken, onions, peas and mushrooms, thrown on the side of some chicken fried rice in a polystyrene container and some paper soaked lovingly in curry sauce. I will not be ordering again. I paid £10 for this, and the majority of the curry sauce had all soaked into the paper!! What was left, however, didn't leave much to be desired. The chicken was rubbery and chewy, or 'slippery chicken' as I like to call it typical cheap Chinese takeaway stuff and for £10, the portion size was ridiculously small. If this had been on a food delivery app, I'd be asking for my money back. Lesson learned though.
This has got to be one of the best Chinese/fish n chip shops in the UK. The portions are great, the price is good and the taste is unbelievable!! Having lived abroad for many years it's a real treat to taste proper Chinese takeout.
Great food at a good price. The English chip shop food means everyone can dine with us, even the picky ones that do not like Chinese food. Both the Chinese dishes and chip shop food are cooked well
I always order the same meal and it always tastes amazing. Today I found that my sweet and sour chicken tasted like fish which was a huge disappointment. Im sure you wouldn't fry chicken and fish in the same fryer? I was very unhappy that I had to leave the meal that I was looking forward to.
Awesome takeaway. I would definitely rate this as Shirebrook's finest! Chinese and English meals. Great menu and always lots of special meal deals. Prices are amazing. Food always prepared fresh - takeaway, call and collect, local delivery. Great food, great service, great prices. Quality all the way A1. Well done, Yummy :
1st visit, I was very impressed, we both had separate meals, both spot, not greasy, now I know why there was a que just after opening.. Cheery staff too. Well worth a visit.
The food is is absolutely disgusting I won't never order nothing from here. Staff hére have a bad attitude problem
Asked for a black bean sauce with veg. Not a massive variation of veg. Very bland and not much black bean in the sauce compared to alot of other places. Peking ribs were very dry and rubbery, ended up not eating a great deal of the whole thing. Needs more flavour and colour to the dishes. Would not recommend to be fair
I love this place, very clean fast and efficient service with a smile. A variety of food is served here not just Chinese, you can pick from a chip shop menu or even have a donner kebab. The food I've had has been very tasty and is always pipping hot.
I ordered pasta with chicken and mushrooms, I got it with shrimps to which I have allergies, and the service that I can possibly give them an opinion, laughter in the room, what else to expect from such a dive and this kind of chicken is probably my kitten who disappeared near this restaurant without a trace because the meat does not even resemble chicken, you have to send the health and safety department there, poor kitty
