"Combining Nigel Copsey from the Earth Stone and Lime company with Lee Gillard from Gillard’s Building Services we provide a specialist building conservation service that covers both brickwork and stone masonry.Nigel is a professional building conservator and one of the leading masons in hot lime conservation in the UK. Lee has undertaken training at the Scottish lime centre to then go on to be mentored by Nigel and other craftsmen across the UK. He is working towards a fellowship with the society for the protection of ancient buildings.We follow the S.P.A.B approach using like for like materials and only undertaking repairs where necessary. We have a real passion for what we do and feel this shows across all the services that we offer."

The Yorkshire Lime Company have been absolutely brilliant as they have just spent 9 weeks working on our Grade II* listed Westgate Unitarian Chapel using hot lime pointing, and lime torching, as well as working with our architects and Historic England who, after inspecting their work said they had never seen such good heritage pointing. I would thoroughly recommend Lee Gillard and his team as absolute experts in their field. The Yorkshire Lime Company went the extra mile to save our chapel wall when we realised the Victorian mortar was destroying the Georgian Bricks!
I was very pleased with the work Lee and his team did rebuilding a section of my stone garden wall which had become unstable. The work was carried out using traditional hot lime mortar in keeping with the original. The team were reliable and hard working. I would happily use them again.
I had a problem with spalling brickwork on my house and asked Lee to take a look. He diagnosed the problem - that, at some point in the past, a previous owner had had repointing done using cement based mortar. Lee arranged for the cement mortar to be removed and replaced with lime mortar. Very neat job and I'm very pleased with the result.
Watch out ! following A ridiculous quotation, We contacted Lee Gillard to say we would not be using his services to repair our wall. We received an email response from Lee, in what we considered to a rude tone trying to frighten and intimidate us. The quotation received was based on one photo that was sent to him, he didn't visit site and their was no description of works to be carried out, just his ridiculous labour cost and a list of material that we would need to supply for him to do the work. He thinks can take advantage of people because of the limited number of people working with lime mortar. if you use this company be prepared to pay through the nose.
Lee and his colleagues have done a great job repointing our 200 year old property, to solve a damp issue. They've worked weekends to get the job done, in some very unpleasant weather. Happy to recommend them.

Lee and his team did a great job re-pointing our Victorian brickwork with hot lime mortar. Always turned up when they said they would and worked to schedule and to budget. Excellent attention to details and hard working. Delighted with the results and highly recommended!
We're very happy with a small but important job repairing our lintel at the front of our house. Lee did a great job matching the lime mortar using materials correct for the age and style of our house. And now every time I go outside I don't wince when I look up! The work has made a big difference.
We have a large garden wall which was in desperate need of repair. Lee from The Yorkshire Lime Co stepped in after another contractor started the project and let us down. Lee offered advice and guidance about our project, we needed hand made bricks and he helped us source the right bricks for the job. Lee also replaced an aged and dangerous lintel over a garden gate. Lee explained the importance of using lime to rebuild our wall and the longer impact of using other products. He helped us create what is now a beautiful walled garden. Thank you to Lee and his team for their hard work. I would definitely recommend The Yorkshire Lime Co and will use them again for future projects.
