I've been past it many times when racing on the air strip but never had time to visit. It was a great 3 hours looking around. Very good display of planes. A lot bigger than I thought. Had a very nice reasonably priced meal and drink in the cafe. Places like this need supporting so the memories keep being remembered. I will definitely visit again. The entry price is a year long re visit ticket.
Picked up a leaflet about this place so decided to visit. Brought our 3 year old plus 2 dogs and had a lovely time. Our little one loved that he could go into various planes. Good exhibits and we all enjoyed ourselves immensely. The dogs were excited to sniff everything on site.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo wait
Fabulous museum based at a WW2 free french bomber station. Great collection of aircraft and other displays in original RAF buildings and rebuilt hangars. Naafi was very good with reasonable prices. Lovely original control tower. Some vehicles to add to the interest too. Give yourself a full day to get aroundVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Really enjoyed my visit today. Particularly happy that dogs were welcomed and allowed almost everywhere. Lots of planes and other vehicles. Reasonably priced cafe and gift shop. Made a couple of advance Christmas present purchases. Very informative to know a bit about the history of every plane/vehicle. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Also two lovely memorial gardens lots of other displays/exhibits including a series of film to mark the 40th anniversary of the Falklands. We had a great day and only left because it was closing! Another bonus is tickets allow reentry another day!
Brilliant afternoon here, plenty of free parking, great disabled access and plenty of benches to rest, which I needed. Entry ticket lasts 12months which is a fab deal. Cafe ok but a tad expensive however the cake was lovely and it was an escape from the sun. There are toilets in both the cafe and the adjacent hut and disabled ones too along with baby changer unit. Only lose 1* as no aviation bookmarks in gift shop and although good seats outside, none inside the huts, so I struggled to stand to read the information boards as needed the seats and wouldn't have been great if raining either, luckily it wasn't on our visit. So please YAM consider the odd chair indoors for disabled, thank you, Otherwise very good.
Absolutely amazing place I'm not plane fan but this place is truly a must see place, the staff are really friendly/chatty and keep place well maintain, there is little fee to pay online or up on arrival, also has toilets, shop and little cafe. The planes them selves are a eye opener especially Lancaster bomber, you can also get on few planes and see inside. I highly recommend this place, its must see especially on nice sunny day
This is such a great place for kids and adults. It's just the right size to keep young children entertained. It's nice that you can get in some of the planes and it's quite interactive. There are a few events coming up too that we will definitely be going back to as our tickets last 12 months. Well worth the moneyVisited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
What an amazing and informative place. All the way back from its time as a WW2 base for the French, all the way up to the Falklands conflict. The planes are amazing and to be so up close was really great. The chance to even sit inside some of them was really special and my boy loved it. The NAAFI canteen sells a wide range of food and drinks and there is enough there to keep all ages interested. It is a bit exposed and windy but wrap up warm and you'll be fine. We will be going back again as there was so much we didn't get to see.
Had a brilliant day , the two grand kids absolutely loved it. They spent hours walking round, sitting in some of the museum pieces and reading lots to do with aviation history from the early days to present. We were all very impressed with the displays ,the staff/volunteers were very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional . The mess/Naffi was fantastic. the food was excellent, and service too. All in all, excellent day and wasn't too hard on the wallet. Will return very soon.
A great museum with lots to keep you busy no matter what age you are. Reasonable admission prices with annual return with tickets purchased on the day. Lots of history and 40+ aircraft. Well worth a visit
