Frankly the finest cod and chips for miles around. Having recently moved to Blackhall from Washington our entire workforce now eats regularly from here. I sent them after finding the place on the way to our new headquarters. If I’m honest, the food quality is far far superior to what we have found locally. I do however like to stress some feedback being the signage is poor outside and the mundane green kind of always looks either closed or like some old barber shop. You could quite easily drive past this place as at a quick glance one roller shutter is always down. Parking is excellent and adds to the success of the place because their is ample outside for passers by. Fish incredible chips outstanding and staff Freud lay and lovely. Well done.
Delicious food!. A weekly treat for me. Chips corned beef patties are great but the curry sauce is the best I've tasted. They all come in a daily special. I can't fault this chip shop. Great. ⁸
WAS a customer of this place for over two decades!! WAS the best fish in all of the surrounding villages. After being took over the fish is horrible was wobble and flat!! Sausages taste like words I shall not use in public. PRICES have went UP!! QUALITY has went DOWN!! IM HONESTLY DEVASTATED!!
Chips are lovely, fish is chunky and the meat patties are superb - the best in the area. A decent pattie is hard to find but you cannot go wrong here. Really quick to serve too thanks to there being enough staff.
I've never had a bad fish the chips are nice potatoes could do with putting a bit more Marg on the buns lol
Always a great shop always clean, been going since i was 11, im 63 now, in truth i thought the standards would drop when it came into new ownership like so many do, i was wrong, well wrong, standards have got better, and it is open a lot more now. I am relieved that i can carry on going there as i always have, good on you, and good luck.
Yoden is great fish and chip shop! I actually live in Horden and frequently order from this chippy . It is a bit overpriced but for food quality and standard its a fine one . Staff are friendly and about the fish its to die for although there are better ones like Colmans or Cod on Rocks its a great little local wonder!
Very disappointed with the food. All tasted like fat. Could squeeze the fat out of the batter. Chips seemed under cooked soggy and fatty. Shame as it all looked good!
The food is lovely, but the size of the fish is truly very stingy, I now go to a chippy where even the 'small' cod is at least twice the size of Yoden Fisheries large cod and just as nice.
I have always loved the food from here however today I was very disappointed as my chips were black to quality of the potatoes was not good and my sausage was very greasy and made me feel sick and I threw more food away than I ate
