Most amazing views and lovely gardens. A nice hostel to stay at with good facilities. Great to get up in the morning and go for a coastal walk!
Private hire of this YHA. Wonderful views of the sea and surrounding countryside. Very clean and comfortable. Great kitchen facilities for self catering. Village near by has many facilities.Rooms: 5/5
Incomparable is the key word. The location is astonishing. We where told the building was an old high-end hotel, and we believe them. You have stunning views 360 degrees, throw a rock and go pick it up and you have found an amazing trail to follow. And the price doesn't reflect this at all! Looking at the location, this should have been at least 5x the price! But it's also a strange place. The rooms are tiny, and there is next to no staff. You cook your own food. The entire place is SUPER children safe, with even floor-level windows limited in how much they open to secure children from falling out. This extends into the first problems. Yes, there is heating issues. Having all windows only open about 10-15 cm. means on a good day, the air gets pretty bad in the entire house. Secondly, you live next to a light house. The light isn't much of an issue, but if it is foggy, they sound the horns... every... 30... seconds.... all the time. Finally, everyone beside us had small children aged 0-7, and they seemed to have a blast. I can't really put the pieces together as to why this place is great for new families, but it seems to be. Overall, a pleasant stay. I won't recommend it for everyone, but for the right people, you won't find anything better, anywhere.
This is a beautiful hostel in a n absolutely stunning location. Great for walkers as this is right on the coastal path. Chris at the reception is very friendly and helpful. The kitchen in this self-catering hostel is very nice. Only issue is there is no wifi in the rooms - only in the common lounge. Even the wifi in the lounge is very slow. That's the only downside to this hostel. Apart from that everything is perfect!
Situated next to lighthouse, the views are great. At night the light from the lighthouse sweeps the sea and a fog horn sound when the weather is bad gives a gothic feeling. It is very spartan, no bar or breakfast in the morning but the rooms are clean. Hares are roaming the grounds adding a pleasant joy to the atmosphere.
An amazing view from a picturesque hotel. The access to some of the most astounding and historic maritime coast is unrivaled and conservation work carried out on the surrounding farmland an eye opener into the challenges of maintaining a world heritage site.
Incredible views in this brilliant hostel. Book direct on YHA website - it's very easy. Kitchen is well equipped but local shops close early-ish. Takeaway fish and chips in Lizard village are excellent.
The place has amazing views. It is perfect if you want to spend time far from the city. Since it's far from main city, there are few options for food, but you will find 2/3 pubs and local food nearby. You just have to be early for food.
No 4G Internet available. Very poor and limited WiFi available only in 1 room. No double glazing. No mobile reception available. It seems we r complete detached from rest of the world as even phone service not available. No network coverage. No WiFi. Also there is no TV available. We hired the whole hostel, but the above issues disappointed us
Wonderful location and really friendly and helpful staff. Also the room we had has an amazing view to wake up to. The wheelchair accessible wet room was plenty big enough although I’ve docked them a star for the call for aid pull being tied up so high that even someone stood up could not reach it have contacted them and they’ve promised to fix it so . Things to note are the wifi isn’t the fastest and gets overloaded very easily with lots of users, so at peak times it won’t be great. Also the kitchen isn’t the largest so you can have to wait for space to cook and if others aren’t on top of their cleaning things run out. But all in I’m sure I’ll be back at some point the location is amazing and it’s great value for money
