Beautiful setting with incredible food. Great family place with a play area lots of grass to play on and a field with football goal. Will definitely be back many times this summer
Really lovely pub with live music, a marquee, loads of outdoor seating and a decent sized play area for kids. Ample parking too! We had vegan chilli nachos I asked them to add cheese which were brilliant. Thought it a bit odd that nachos were served with rice and would have preferred just tortilla chips, chilli and the toppings but it was a really good portion and very nice. My only negative is that the pub itself was shut and it was a bit cold when we visited but we had little ones with us and they couldn't stand the loudness of the music in the marquee so we decided to leave early.
Pretty setting, great food especially the fish cakes. Book to get a seat in the weekend. Only dining in the marquee.
Firstly I always start with three stars and add if anything is outstanding or conversely, reduce for bad points. Setting. Its on the Winters edge so the grounds are a bit muddy, the marquee is closed and its all a little sad looking. Nonetheless, the interior was warm and although not covid friendly, theres was ample if not comfortable seating. Staff were hit and miss. Some smiling, some not. If the food had been piping hot i would have added a star but it was lukewarm. Saying that, i did not hear one complaint about the quality and i have to agree. I would definitely return but not with a group.
Dropped in without booking on the off chance of a mid walk Sunday lunch. They managed to fit us in on a busy Mother’s Day. We ordered a lamb and beef roast, that arrived within 20 minutes. Veg was honeyed parsnip, carrot and swede, sautéed red cabbage, with an extra side of cauliflower cheese. A sausage meat ball was also served. All very tasty and HOT, probably one of the cheaper Sunday lunches I have in ages. Totally recommend. Lovely pub, lovely surroundings. Great staff, polite efficient and not over keen
This a great pub in a remote space, but this is a massive benefit; there is a huge field, perfect for children to play in, as well as a outdoor play frame. The indoor space is your typical cozy pub but the conservative is light and airy. Would totally recommend food and drink options as well!
Cosy little pub located in the middle of nowhere in the countryside. Nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of the towns. Good choice of food and portions are really good. Prices are also really reasonable. Only criticisms are we were a little cold eating in the conservatory. There didn't appear to be any heating on in there and it was incredibly cold outside with thick fog. There were also a lot of cobwebs in the conservatory which kind of puts you off eating when you question the cleanliness.
Wow!!! Excellent food and very friendly and professional staff. Many selection of beers and big size food. I will be back as soon as I can Thank you Rob and colleagues.
We attended today Sunday 27th Feb 2022. 5 in total three adults and 2 children aged 11 and 13. It was our first visit and we booked last night for a table today. It was fully booked largely. We all wanted a Sunday roast. We were not sure if our children, who are big eaters would need an adult meal or a child’s meal? They decided on. A child’s meal The staff were lovely and attentive and we ordered at the bar and it was at the table very quickly. One adult had the roast of the day, Lamb and the other two had pork belly. The childrens meals were ample for my two big eaters. The pork belly was beautiful cooked to perfection and tasted beautiful. Roast potatoes cooked perfectly as was the veg. The only thing that we felt let down the rest of the high quality meal was the shop bought small Yorkshire puddings. I wouldn’t take anything away from my review because of it, but we all did comment that the quality of the food we would have expected a home made Yorkshire pudding, but hey no big issue. We had desserts too, everyone we had was tasty and wonderful! Adults roasts £13 and childrens £7.50 desserts £6. Total bill with drinks for 5 was £98 we left full and very happy worth every penny.
Great pub doing its best to keep you all safe. Loads of space. The food was delicious and the beer was first class. There is a nice new play area for the children too.
