Lovely lunch, impromptu visit during a walk round Rivington/Anglezarke. Met by a lovely guy and told we could sit anywhere. Lovely cosy fires burning - very welcoming on a chilly day ! We'd only called in for a quick bite but was told there was only a standard 3 course menu but this was very varied and had some tempting dishes. I had the burger with chips and onion rings which was the nicest burger I've tasted and the chips and onion rings were delicious, all freshly cooked. Will definitely be returning to try some of the other interesting dishes!!
Lovely quaint country pub set in the quiet countryside. Plenty of outdoor seating overlooking fields. Only one problem, hence 4 stars instead of 5 and thats the lack of vegetarian choice on the menu. Only 1 starter and 1 main course.
Absolutely fabulous find, amazing food, great beer paired with brilliant service. Couldn’t fault it
We booked here after our walk round Anglezark. We had something off the lunch menu; the beer battered fish sandwich is delicious, as are the chunky chips! The staff were very professional a young lad and girl were on today and were very aware that they could see I was still in training with our foster sausage dog and were really accommodating with this. Will definitely return as the food here is second to none. Thank you Yew Tree Team
Absolutely delightfully quaint but contemporary county pub. Relaxed atmosphere with good mixed clientele. Superb good restaurant standard food with a good selection of beers and Ales. Although the staff were very polite and helpful, could probably be a little more relaxed. Definitely worth dropping in if you are in the area.
Decided to try here as it had been recommended. Went for an early lunch on a Sunday. As a starter I had the stilton souffle and I can honestly say it was incredible. I have been Googling a recipe ever since I got home. My husband and daughter had the homemade focaccia and they loved it. For mains we had the bacon burger, a pork dish and fish and chips. All really well cooked and presented. The only tiny downside was the lacking pescatarian menu, I really didn't fancy fish and chips but the alternatives didn't really do much. I think there were only 4 options on the menu and one was a parsnip risotto which didn't sound great. But, this is certainly going to be our new local for food as I know the menu changes regularly. Very clear, attentive staff, superb food. Bravo Yew Tree
Took my girlfriend for a birthday lunch, I walk around Rivington alot and came across the Yew Tree and decided to give it a go. The lunch time menu was perfect I had a smoked Salmon starter on a slate board ,Haddock could have been a little bigger and a large portion of chips which were lovely, followed by a sticky ginger pudding a Latte, the girlfriend had chicken and dauphinoise potatoes. The food was very well cooked and the service by the gentleman and the young lady was great. We will be going back i'm sure in the near future. It's a hidden little gem well worth a visit if your walking around the reservoirs.
Best vegan meal I have had in a very long time. Congratulations to the chef for an exciting menu, beautifully cooked and presented.
Good food at good prices. Lovely atmosphere. Friendly staff.
Love this place! Great setting, service and food. It was a quiet Thursday night but the food was exceptional. I had the Ox cheek with stilton mash and beetroot, which was one of the best meals I have had recently. All felt very safe and very clean, with automatic hand sanitiser on entry and staff wore masks. Will definitely be back soon.
