I visited the Same Day Emergency Care unit in Yeovil for a quick 5–10 minute consultation with the doctors, but I ended up waiting from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Even though the staff were communicating, we still had to keep going to the reception to ask for updates, as there wasn’t much information given while we waited.nnI’m sharing this so it helps improve the experience for future patients. If you’re planning to visit, I recommend bringing some food and water, because the waiting time can be much longer than expected.
Had to visit this-morning due to a incident whilst cutting carrots and I have to say the whole experience was very smooth. I was seen too right away to assess the damage, was then sent to get an X-ray and shortly after patched up, did have to return as the bandage was wet through with blood within the hour and I quickly got seen again to be glued up and re dressed and been fine since. Not my first rodeo but this one did make me faint and sickly but all staff were very nice and accommodating.
Thank you for treating my mother so promptly and supportively. You took time to answer all our questions and made mum comfortable and reassured her throughout. Staff were extremely professional, efficient, kind and thorough.
Contrary to what you normally hear about the NHS, this place seems to be a cut above the norm. Perhaps we caught them at a quiet time, but we were in & out in 45 minutes!!nWell done the A & E team at YDH, good job!!
Spent 8 hours there yesterday, the staff were so caring, kept me informed as to what was happening , give us a sandwich and a couple of cups of tea. Can't praise them enough.
