Rooms are nice. Clean with Comfy beds. Slight noise from the bar before closing stops an otherwise 5* review. Staff. Especially. Sandy were excellent really helpful and friendly. Absolutely lovely place room was clean and modern, a tad too warm for me but we had the window open. Was told that there was a disco on but we didn't hear a thing. The service we received from Sandy was excellent, she was extremely friendly and very welcoming. The food was very nice and tasty, we ate lunch, dinner, and breakfast, however the portions of lasagna we had for tea were VERY small and at nearly £10 each we feel they need to be quite considerably bigger. Would definitely recommend staying here.
Do not let the outside of this place put you off. Inside is very clean and has up to date furnishing. Menu choices were good and also catered for gluten free. The bedrooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. Staff very attentive and helpful. Breakfast was OK, but room for improvement. Rooms: Very clean comfortable rooms. The bed was large and comfy.
Just had a fab stay at the Griffin Hotel. Breakfast very good value. Talked to one of the service staff this morning cleaning the rooms. Sorry I didn’t get her name but she had dark brown hair. Lovely to talk to one of the unsung heroes as without the cleaning staff who take pride in their job there would be no hotel. Very nice clean rooms and good value also. Stayed here on a number of occasions and highly recommend xx
Sandy was a very welcoming and engaging host from arrival to departure. My room was warm and had a very comfortable bed. Lovely meals and friendly service. Not my first stay here and I am sure I will stay here again. Thank you.Rooms: 4/5
Good location with free parking. The pub can get noisy so be aware of that. Had an issue with the breakfast supplied in the morning. The breakfast was charged at £9 for 1 rasher, 1 sausage, 1 egg, 1 hash brown etc. But I noticed on the evening menu they advertised an all day breakfast at £8.99 that comes with 2 of everything. Just a bit puzzled as to why this was.
Had a lovely stay at the Griffin, great food and a wide selection of drinks. The thing that really sets the Griffin apart is their staff, who were incredibly welcoming and go above and beyond to make sure everyone’s having a great time. Lovely, warm local meeting spot, can’t wait for my next visitRooms: 5/5
A party of 32 of us thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Ye Olde Griffin last Saturday. The food was lovely and the service polite and efficient. Some of our party booked rooms overnight too. It is our 3rd year there and will return for sure. Many thanks. Food & drinks: Excellent food and value for money.
Great little pub, good bar staff attentive geezer on the floormanager maybe? Football played but have areas with out and have areas with screen on but no sound so proper variety! The food ispub grub but on a really good level. Just moved to the area and will be regulars Food & drinks: Decent
