Decent enough pub in a nice location and setting. Pints had a bit of 2 different ones were in my opinion, flat! Gotta say it how it is! Will defo go back but will defo stick to the spirits
Would have been 5 but reduced menu on mother's day, annoying, plus 1 out of the 3 who served us initially was moody and didn't listen. Other ladies made up for it! Good burger, recommend the P.I.G burger
Our burgers were very tasty and fresh. Faultless. On a warm sunny day the outside area is very popular. Still has character, good choice of real ales and staff that are quality - cheerful, helpful and efficient. Improvements since 2020 have increased the capacity inside and out whilst not impacting on service or feeling of space - the fabric of the building incl roof etc was renewed too. In fact its all much better - signs say it was founded in 1674 and it ought to have a few more decades centuries? left in it yet!
Really good vibes, always lovely people and friendly service in here, would recommend!
I went to The George to meet some very old friends who I hadn't seen for a very long time. The pub was enormously loud, we couldn't hear each other speak, our voices were drowned out by a singer/guitarist of very dubious talent. Even when the guitarist wasn't playing the pre-recorded music being played was loud enough to peel the paint from the woodwork. We ended up having to sit outside in the beer garden on a rather cold and rainy night, there were heaters and covered areas so it kept the worst of the weather off, but it was still quite chilly. I'm giving this pub two stars, one for the very nice staff and one for the reasonable facilities in the beer garden. If they had turned the music down just a little I'd score The George much higher but it was cranked up to eleven all night and put a big dampener on what should've been a big reunion.
George is a friendly pub normally offering good food . Have had occasions when no chef was available & worth phoning in advance to confirm & reserve a table .
The in place in Beckenham guaranteed to meet someone you know there. Excellent selection of traditional ales and ciders, and lagers with a twist.. Brewdog, Camden represented. I recommend Brewdogs clockwork tangerine at 4.5 easy drinking ipa. Good selection of food available as well at a fair price ..large beer garden some covered at the side and adults only area for those who want to be romantic and alone. Good friendly staff it can get very busy so be patient if you have a small wait for your drink, that's all part of drinking in a popular venue. A security presence when we were there ensures an enjoyable time without the drunken rebels Well worth a visit
Lovely atmosphere, cosy and well set-out. Amazing service from all bar and floor staff.
Great night. Great pub. Great staff. Great entertainer. Looking forward to another Friday night there! Thank you
Great pub, live music, only downside not enough seats so couldn't sit anywhere! Otherwise good.
