A great place to visit and get some fresh air. The main walkway provides a good flat footpath which can be pretty busy at times with a variety of users. Not too difficult to find a bit quieter part of the walkway. Loops from the main track take you through some beautiful woods which are carpeted with a succession of wildflower species in the spring. The dogs love this place. Ample parking, a playground and a decent little cafe at the visitors centre.
Great day out with the kids, there's a cafe which sells coffee, cake, toasties and ice cream. A range of play areas to cover all ages toddler to 14yr old. Lots of walks spread out from cafe, kids loved it.
Lovely walk along the old line and through the woods. Plenty of parking spaces. Electrical car point. Cafe but dogs not allowed and a wee bit too cold to sit outside. Plenty of kids play area too.
Always a great place to get a bit of fresh air. Nice gentle walk with the kids along the old railway tracks and then half an hour in the play area. The train tracks are long gone but the path follows the same route. Setting off from Thorpe Thewles heading north there is a slightly more adventurous path if you take the stairs of the right about 300m on from the old station platform. There are about 100 stairs in total but its great to get the kids to burn off some energy. Have a good explore and you might even find the abandoned treasure chest in the woods!
really good place for a family day out, picnic tables available , toilets available baby change too , free carpark & cafe nearby. Huge play area for kids & planetarium that we haven’t visited. Long walks into forest available too shame it rained but we will be back !
We took a chance and stopped by wynyard woodland park. Over all it was a lovely few Hours. There are lots of picnic tables and places to sit. Some have seen better days and could do with a little money spent on it. The toilets were serviceable however not that clean if you take a moment to look around. The kids play parks were great in comparison. With three sections it was easy to choose the one with the best activities for your kids. It was loverly taking a walk with the dog and it’s not too far on the few paths close to take. It’s great how they have created a fun space out of an old railway station but sadly the train was a wreck and a huge let down. The staff in the cafe were loverly and prices pretty standard for a playpark. Overall 4/5.
Lovely woodland walk along a well maintained solid path. Huge playground set over multiple linked sites with lots to do for all age groups except the under 3s. Visitor centre although we did not take a look at this, and a huge easily found car park. Kids were very impressed with it all and the dog enjoyed the walk! Note dogs aren't allowed in the play area
Surreal preserved Victorian train station without tracks or an engine, though there is an old carriage car, a great place for all the family. Play park, walks cafe and an observatory. Some lovely views. There's also a charge port for an electric car. Of which the blue light can be used as a homing beacon at night if you park near this.
Wynyard Park is a perfect family destination with its massive playground, biking and running trails, and convenient amenities like a cafe and public toilets with parking. Whether you're looking to have a fun day out with your kids or get some exercise in the great outdoors, this park has something for everyone. The playground is particularly impressive, providing hours of entertainment for kids of all ages. Overall, Wynyard Park is a must-visit for anyone in the area.
Fantastic beautiful hidden gem. Staff are friendly along with the local people. Great park for the kids, lovely kept paths for walking.
