Story

Wycombe High School is a highly successful and very popular girls grammar school located in the south of Buckinghamshire.

The school is housed on a large, attractive site overlooking the town of High Wycombe and the Chiltern countryside beyond. The School achieved academy status on 1 May 2011.

We have six forms of entry and take girls from a wide area, from over fifty primary schools, both state and private. We have approximately 1300 girls at the school, nearly 400 of these being in our Sixth Form.

There are over 130 members of staff providing the girls with the teaching, help and support they require. Each year, we welcome around 20-30 students who join Wycombe High Schools Sixth Form from other schools.

My daughter absolutely loves this school. The teachers are fantastic. Family like atmosphere kind of reminds my daughter of her amazing primary school. Good quality teaching.

Just spent a lovely evening at school celebrating the fundraising efforts that allow the students to have such a great experience. My daughter has a very positive view of the school and enjoys every day. Thanks to all the staff and students for making it possible!

I don't see how this young person could insist on being a boy and yet continue to be at a girls' only grammar school. His father should have tried to get him into the boys' grammar school, and until this was successful (if it ever was) it was reasonable for the girls' school to continue to treat the teenager as a girl. Alternatively, there are mixed schools locally which are not grammar schools.

A lovely environment for the girls. It is full of oppurtunities for the students to take. Pastoral care is done well and taken seriously.
