Lovely, family-friendly place to stay. The apartments two - and three bed were larger than expected, more like houses. There was plenty to do on the grounds pool, mini golf, table tennis, badminton, tennis, a small park and go for walks, and the equipment is available in the leisure centre. Just be aware that there is no restaurant on site, but they do have a tuck shop type shop in the reception area. We used Barton-under-Needwood's co-op for our shopping.
Stayed here after a wedding in one of the cabins. Hated too arrive very late and the staff were very accommodating. The cabins were spotlessly clean and had plenty of amenities. There were many other things to do at the hotel but we had to leave early. Situated just south of Burton upon Trent and near the A38. The main hotel is a very expansive building. On a lane adjacent are the cabins. There are around 19 cabins. There is a tennis court. There is also a golf course. This ideally is reached by car but taxis would come from Burton and Uber worked. This would be a good place to explore the surrounding area. All the the cabins were self catering and had good facilities. Rooms: Nice big rooms. Nearby activities: Burton upon Trent. Claymills pumping Station. National Arbouretum.
Only stayed for one night as had a wedding the following day, lovely place to stay, once inside we was all very pleased with the actual accommodation it was spacious and most importantly very clean, apart from a hairdryer everything you need is provided. Rooms: All rooms was a great size, very clean.
We stayed 3 nights and explored the local area, particularly enjoyed Barton marina and lakes. Good facilities at Wychnor, real pity there is no restaurant/bar on site. The access on/off the A38 is dangerous with all the speeding truckers, so you need to be careful and there's a nasty pot hole on the lane upto Wychnor which noone seems to have reported.
we had a lovely one night stay. Natalie was extremely helpful and friendly on arrival, as was Esme. clean apartments, loved that we could sit outside on the decking. kitchen has everything you need, and beds comfortable and clean. God price and we will return! grounds are scenic and facilities pool and spa was lovely. we went during the adults-only time and were the only people there! a family came after and it was no trouble. sauna smelt a bit damp, but dry room was lovely. missing out on a whole lot of business without a bar and restaurant, but they have a little shot area in reception and local co-op only 5 minute drive away. wifi connection was bad but we didnt mind. Rooms: clean, spacious and comfortable Nearby activities: facilities were lovely. wished we'd stayed 2 nights! Walkability: walking around the grounds is lovely, but best to come by car as the grounds are extensive to get in and out of
We were able to book 1 night here but think it was because it was out of season. The room consisted of a lounge, kitchen and bedroom which was nice. We had double doors but they only opened up onto a tarmac area. The bar and restaurant were closed, so we bought some frozen meals from reception and 3 beers which came to £35... Might have been better getting a take away. The location is quite remote, which would suit some people. Our room was very quiet which meant a really good night's sleep. Next morning we took a look around, it is situated in the most beautiful countryside. There are lodges as well as the rooms we stayed in, they looked lovely. It was great for 1 night and maybe ok when it's fully open.
Wonderful place to get away from it all and relax. Could do with reopening the restaurant but there's enough lovely places nearby for it to doesn't matter that much. Highly recommended for a short break as a couple or even a family.Rooms: 5/5
Great accomodation.facilities were much better than we expected. The staff were very helpful. The facilities were quiet, but it wasn't in season. Not sure how busy it would be during the holidays. The grounds are spectacular and we had fun exploring. Would highly recommendRooms: 5/5
three bedroom apartment was excellent everything you need lovely grounds but only let down no bar restaurant which would make it perfect otherwise you have to travel. and A38 road entrance very dangerous to enter and leave fast traffic should be warning Rooms: Great everything you need fully fitted kitchen bathroom Food & drinks: no bar restaurant needs badly nice weather be nice to sit outside
