We absolutely loved our visit today! Loads of birds and ducks to see as we walked along. All pram friendly wild walk was a bit wobbly but we managed some of it. We absolutely loved the pond dipping session and the ladies running it were lovely and knowledgeable. We will definitely be returningVisited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
My first visit to this beautiful and tranquil nature reserve, and I loved it! There's so much to see and discover that you need to spend the whole day here. Arrived here by coach, and the first stop was the friendly little visitor centre, where I bought a guidebook containing illustrations of all the birds and other wildlife found here, plus a couple of route maps, for £3.50. Found it very useful on my 2-hour walk around the reserve. Saw a great variety of waterbirds, storks, cranes, flamingos and otters. There are feeds and talks throughout the day. There are also canoe safaris along the waterways, and a half-hour guided boat trip that runs every hour, but which was unfortunately fully booked when I arrived. Lots to keep kids amused: pond dipping, den building, a wild walk through the wetlands with a shaky bridge and other exciting challenges, and an adventure playground. Loved the Lego birds and animals! Enjoyed discovering the longhouse on its little island, but did not get enough time to venture far into the reedbeds. Hopefully next time! Most of the paths are level, tarmac, and wheelchair accessible, but there are wilder areas with rough tracks that can get very muddy. Info boards all along the route, plus hand washing stations and lots of seating. There's a gift shop, accessible toilets next to the entrance, and a nice café with an outside terrace, where I bought a lovely sandwich to take home. Ample parking. Did not get a lot of time here, but I enjoyed every minute! This is a place I definitely want to visit again.
A great place for all of the family. There's so much to see. We have been a few times for a few hours at a time, and we always see something different. I would highly recommend it to all people.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
Loved our 1st Martin Mere Duck Race. Thank you for a wonderful day. We are annual members and also loved the giant duck hunt. Grace the Giraffe Duck & Mary Swanson the Pirate Party Duck we entered into the 2024 Duck Race.
What a wonderful day out! I only wish we had arrived a bit earlier, so that we could have spent more time there - we hadn't expected there would be so much to see!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
I really enjoyed walking around this place, very relaxing and so many different types of birds to see.
Lovely easy access experience. Really enjoyed the use of the hides. Always something to see. There was no problem viewing in hides , but it was a quiet midday week visit. Cafeteria clean and menu adequate.
We are wwt members and we normally go to slimbridge as it is local to us. We came here while on holiday and it was nice to see a different wwt site. Nice walks and some different birds to slimbridgeVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
A fantastic place to visit. Really accessible and great for kids. We visited the cafe and the food looked great. I’d recommend a membership. I regret not signing up on the day.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
We always enjoy visiting this place. Have been members for many years. Took our children, now taking grandchildren. So much to see and do. It is a great place for children to get to see so many varieties of birds and animals and have the opportunity to feed them. The boat rides are great fun. The beautiful surroundings to stroll around are amazing. The craft area is always a winner with the children too.
