Excellent product and service. Retrofitted underfloor heating to entire ground floor of old cottage. Now been running for a year with no problems, working great. In particular having installed as a DIY install found the technical team very helpful with a deep understanding of their systems as well as the patience to understand the customers questions. Called again a year later to ask a couple of technical questions for a boiler change - again had a call back within half an hour from the technical team and all questions answered.
Fab product - so easy to instal and wonderful people to work with as well. I can't recommend Wunda enough. We retrofitted a 1970's house with 'overfloor' underfloor heating by laying straight on top of existing floor tiles. It was a breeze and the system works really well.
Decent product which is let down by a cheap manifold and poor support from certain team members. There appear to be a few workers who are very on the ball, others don't seem to know anything nor care. We changed from laminate to tile after few years and I called to ask how to remove the blue foam panels which we adhered to the ufh panels with the supplied wunda spray. I was told they've never ever heard of this and its never glued and its free floating, well in the instructions it says to glue it. They couldn't help and didnt seem bothered to try either. Also, we have 75 meter pipe runs in areas with 12mm pipes, looking through their own instructions they state that 12mm pipes can do a max of 60m. We live 40 mins from wunda and share a post code, yet I received a 'your delivery will arrive today' email and when I checked it said to London 3 hours in the other direction. I called and the woman said 'oh your address didnt come up so I picked that one'. I mean, what? Also, got a replacement length of pipe as I discovered a tiny nick when replacing the laminate and they failed to mention the euroconnectors are one use so I got the pipe on Friday to replace for the tiler to do it sat and sun. Had to cancel because I couldn't reconnect the pipe to the manifold. Non are big huge issues but all together its not a great look for a company.
Recently completed a 170 sq meter job 11 loops and Wunda smart controls, overlay system having been a uponor and Heatmiser contol and installer for many years. Found the boards cheap polystyrene and aluminium each board was bowed in the middle, the mlcp pipe was hard and awkward to push through loops and sections that had multiple cut through just wouldn’t push through. At manifold position was r we ally awkward to look tidy.nControls wise I would fit Heatmiser over Wunda smart anyday. Can’t beat 100mm cellotex and clip down to be honest. Floor build up was a pain to be honest and because of polystyrene you have to watch what adhesive you use.nTechnical helpline is good when you can get through eventually.
We purchased the 20mm rapid response to install in our bungalow. It's approx 180sqm to be installed in two stages.nI had my reservations about the product and how effective it would be installed onto our uninsulated solid concrete sub floor but after wieghing up the pros and cons against traditional radiators I came to the conclusion that I would want to insulate the floor even if we had radiators so the rapid response would do this. It's worth mentioning that this is done as part of a complete renovation that included replacing external walls as it was a PRC woolway construction bungalow. This meant the new walls are now up to the minimum new build u value.nInstallation is straight forward and wunda have videos for everything you would need to know. I called and emailed the technical helpline at various stages with questions and found them super helpful. When installing the floor probe the cable is very thin and the connector snapped off but a quick call and a new one arrived the next day.nWe have floated 8mm laminate flooring with tiles in two bathrooms. Lpg gas system boiler to run the heating as it was here when we moved in and it was in good condition. The system has been up and running for 5/6 weeks now and I'm pleased with it. In this time it has only used around 8/10% of our lpg and it's been running a lot during a recent cold spell of weather. It's not as quick as radiators to heat up the space but I find when it's up to temperature it maintains it very well. Our house is very well insulated in the roof and walls but not the floor so i imagine if our floor was insulated it would be even better. I found lots of comments on line saying installing underfloor heating on an insulated concrete slab would be costly to run and not work very well etc etc but I have to say it works well and seems to be very efficient to run as the flow temp of the boiler is so much lower than with radiators so the gas boiler is condensing more and running at maximum efficiency.nVery pleased with Wunda so far
